I'm not a woman, but I would like a tough, but thoughtful male love interests for my female Hawkes.

Not a guy who tries to be tough, but just is. He should be a good listener & help F!Hawke with her problems (if the player wants her to have any) and acknowledge that she may not be feeling all that great all the time and try to cheer her up, with humor or otherwise. He has his own demons, but he won't burden her life with them - but he'll still be open with her after she's cracked the shell.

He will also lend his own opinion, but will certainly always consider hers. He has convictions, but he does not complain: he just works towards resolutions.

He won't pretend that he has to protect her or that she needs it, but wants to fight alongside her as equals regardless.

one more thing: he should also be open to friendships.

Nice.  This would definitely work.  And I agree about the friendship.  I'd like that to be available for all of the LI.  Not all of my characters are going to be romancing anyone, but they all would like some friends.

I agree, great abs, very nice eye candy indeed.  However, I just found his personlity so dry and uninteresting that I relegated him to the "friend" category.  We went and spilled some drinks on the citadel after the suicide mission and my femshep ended up on the floor of the men's restroom.  That makes it sound a bit more sexy than it actually was.

Don't know if anyone has seen True Blood, and I know it doesn't really pertain to video games, but I absolutely LOVE Godric from True Blood. He is so powerful and influential that even the baddest vamps around him have to listen to him, but at the same time he's amazingly understanding and wise - but I guess that comes with living for 2,000 years. I just love how his character is portrayed. He's mysterious and quiet, he appreciates rare things, and he's not overly gushy nor does he have to be in order to portray his feelings. I'll also settle for an Eric persona.

Yeah. There's hardly an interesting thing about him, and the voice acting isn't good enough for me to go "d'awwww..." whenever he says anything romantic. But maybe it was worth it for this video:

I would think someone who is scholarly.  Also, I do think there is potential for range there--while I'd prefer a good guy, there's no reason why you couldn't give a nerdy/scholarly guy a darker personality (or, just make him amoral).

I'm not picky overall, but I picked the elven mage mainly because I don't recall ever seeing it done before (not a male elven mage anyway).

Hmm.  That kinda reminds me of Valen from Hordes of the Underdark.  That said, Valen was also a woobie (IMO) and I'm not sure that fits the bill.  And, there's nothing wrong with wanting more characters like that either.
