Huh? Have you recruited Logain? What happens in your landsmeet?

And did you whack Loghain yourself and not have Alistair do it?

Yes, I spared Loghain and when that happens Alistair gets all pissy and you have to pick between Anora and Alistair or remind them that they wanted to marry.beggargirl wrote...

Yes, to all of that. Though I might have to go back and check if I told Anora that Alistair agreed.saruman85 wrote...
You probably did, but I'll ask it anyway: did you get Alistair and Anora to agree to the marriage in Arl Eamon's estate previously? As in Anora -> Alistair -> BACK to Anora again?
And did you whack Loghain yourself and not have Alistair do it?

And if you remind them they are supposed to marry you get what you wanted. They marry and you have recruited Logain.
That is what you wanted yes?

This is what I want, yes. But Alistair wont marry Anora even though I had already talked to them about it.beggargirl wrote...

What exactly does Alistair say when you say "I thought you two were going to marry?"

I don't plan on going with the DR and so I'm trying to recruit Loghain to use as a sacrifice. I also want Alistair to stay alive.Sarah1281 wrote...
I think you can do it without getting them to agree by saying 'I thought the two of you could marry' but that might be just a 'in case of Loghain death' option.

Or maybe your coersion is not high enough? *shrugs*
What exactly does Alistair say when you say "I thought you two were going to marry?"
After Anora says "Alistair compose yourself!" he doesnt respond like he does in the video at around 2:10. That or Anora doesn't even say "Alistair compose yourself!"
The first line is always the same though.
Edit: On my playthrough Anora actually says that Ferelden is better of without Alistair instead of telling him to compose himself.
I must have failed to harden him, not thinking about how I wanted to end the game. No saves far back enough either so my only option is to do a speed run to require the desired ending.

What does he SAY and DO on your game. All you are saying is what he doesn't do.

That's not really very helpful. Does it get to the point where Alistair demands to be King so he can kill Loghain and she accuses him of being childish? Can you say 'I thought you two were going to rule together'? If so, what does either one of them say about it?TheSpaceKraken wrote...

Yes, Alistair demands to be king, Anora accuses him of being childish, and I can remind them that the plan was that they rule together. Then Alistair says that the plan was also to bring Loghain to justice and Anora asks him why he would throw away his fortunate alliance for petty revenge. She also says he is unfit to rule.Sarah1281 wrote...

The toolset said that if Alistair's motivation was changed to glory then he'd go along with it but I'm not sure what that entails. Are you absolutely sure he's hardened? I don't think the 'I thought you two were going to marry' line even had a persuade. When he objected earlier did he say he'd need to take matters into his own hands or mention something about not wanting to be King but wanting a dead Loghain more?TheSpaceKraken wrote...

Thanks for trying to help but I think that I hardened him on a different playthrough then on the one I am currently playing and I don't have any saves back far enough to check that. He said that he didn't want to be king but wanted Loghain dead more, which would seem that I did not harden him.Sarah1281 wrote...

Gurl. I think we been feeding the trolls.
The observation I made previously was inaccurate and irrelevant (Shoulder turning? What the hell did I see?).

SpaceKraken, it is my understanding that if the "I thought you and Anora were going to marry" line has a Persuade option in front of it, then you have NOT made them agree to it beforehand. You should try going back to Anora AFTER talking to Alistair in Arl Eamon's estate. I really hope this helps - otherwise either speedrun or console-command from an earlier save (not pleasant, but saves time).
