I could've sworn reading this theory up in another thread already.
Anyway, Morrigan tells The Warden that she doesn't gain anything by changing her human form, not that she couldn't do it IRCC.
And if she infact could do so, who knows maybe she doesn't have a preset/default human form to begin with and is some kind of Dragon.
But this is truly wild speculation and there isn't any proof for this as far as I'm concerned.
The only interesting aspect is of course that we don't know much about the true nature of Shapeshifters, as we only know of Flemeth and Morrigan.
Is there any ''fact'' that Shapeshifters are actually human by default within the game?

If you count the codex entry: Shape shifter, then yes.

Well, a mage PC can learn Shapeshifting from Morrigan, so I assumed it was just another tradition of magic, albeit one that is not acknowledged by the Circle.

My mistake, it's already quite late and I'm tired.
But first Leliana will be the next Andraste and rally all the nugs to attack the Tevinter Imperium (again) because slaves are badTheSpaceKraken wrote...
I think Oghren has the right idea. Morrigan is a nug!
Those manipulative, sneaky, little critters will take over all of Thedas with an army of Old Gods.
