Will we actually be able to use a pointer on the pc version or will it feel super console like Mass Effect were only dialogue wheel controllable during convo? If so, game suck, cancel.

I expect you´ll have to skip the game then, because it´ll suck.

Not need to skip if cancellation, re-fitted to cryengine 3 made proper CRPG  not "diet coke appeal to console user-base make like mass effect because we think it best RPG ever but actually isn't good as an rpg, too much emphasis on presentation and not enough on everything else game".

Baldurs Gate, no Mass Effect.

I think you would fit in with a lot of console gamers since all they really care about is graphics.

This comment is stupid because you're going to end up with better graphics on a PC since gaming rigs these days are far more impressive than the 360's hardware.

This comment is also stupid because the creator of it apparently has his self-esteem tied to which piece of machinery he uses to play video games on, so must disparage console users in order to create the illusion of his manhood.

I own DA for the PC and the Xbox. I like the less unwieldy control scheme on the xbox, but the PC runs smoother and has better graphics.

.If you are presumably talking about my comments regarding Dragon Age 2's graphics, it's because of what the Bioware specifically said, if the game wasn't described as "super hot" and "concentrating on technology" I probably wouldn't care. As it stands, it seems they were  talking out there rear end, the game looks terrible. We basically have, a crap looking Mass Effect. Dumbed down and ugly. :kissing:

First off. What's your problem?, making ridicules assumptions about my gaming preference.

Second. I'm referring to people I've encountered, who only talk about how amazing the graphics when playing a video game.

Because I don't want him to say something I don't like. It's suppose to be a ROLE PLAYING game

It's worked in Adventure games, so why wouldn't it work here?

The option should be there. If you find it stupid, don´t right-click on the text to bring up the full speech but choose according to the wheeel.

Heh. I remember in Mass Effect, I tried to express discomfort about a Spectre being aboard the ship. Turns out the conversation option I had interpreted as "be uneasy about interference from authority organisations", the devs had interpreted as "BE RACIST", and I watched in despair as my character objected to there being a turian on board. I think things like that made the game entertaining, because you were never completely sure what that crazy Shepard was going to do next and all, but it did mean that I never identified with her as much as I have with my Wardens.

It would be optional for people that like it

No it shouldn't , not with the cinematic direction BioWare is taking Dragon Age II. If people can't figure out what their character is going to say from reading what the option says on the wheel, they shouldn't be playing a game like Dragon Age II then.

On another note. Where exactly is this text going to show up when you right click? over the main character's face?

"No it shouldn't , not with the cinematic direction BioWare is taking Dragon Age II. If people can't figure out what their character is going to say from reading what the option says on the wheel, they shouldn't be playing a game like Dragon Age II then."

lets take mass effects dialogs:
1: you: AIs are dangerous - shep: friggin hate AIs WAH
2: you: i dont trust you (towards the illusive man) - sehp: WAH cerberus is the pure incarnation of EVIL!!! the alliance is much BETTER!!! ive got my full trust in the alliance!!

we could continue like this for some time. i bet someone so bright as you, UndercoverDoctor, can figure these dialogs out in no time, for you actually are clever enough to dislike an optional function that allows us mortal beings to play the game, too. i hereby beg for pardon for my stupidness.

Yes it should and disagreeing makes you seem like a selfish ****** who wants to tell others how to play their game. Stop it. You play as you want and others play like they want ok?

Secondly, the cinematic direction sucks. If I wanted a movie I´d go to cinema and not buy a game.

On another note, the text could be shown in a pop-up menu or something. Like I care...........

Yeah, that´s why Shepard is one of the worst suckers ever to have been main char in a game.

Perhaps where the subtitle for Hawke will be? The subs could show up as grey or transparent when holding over an answer. I'd actually really like to see this...

That screen shot makes me sad. It just looks like you have three options: Be nice, be neutral, be mean. What about the in between stuff? It's way too similar to ME. And I agree with Tirigon, you don't have to read the full answer if you don't want. It would just to nice to have the option of seeing it. I hated how in ME you think you're going to say one thing, and then you go and say another.

So yes, I like OP's idea very much. :)

There was a ME2 preview before the game was released that had a dev on it that said bioware wanted to have what the wheel said and what Shepard did to be different. They purposely made some responses to make Shepard do something extreme in certain situations.

Where's the ROLE PLAYING in that ?

Well, I think that DA2 will be more or less similar to dialogue in ME. It's a little less than role playing, more of role guiding, if you know what I mean. Instead of directly choosing everything Hawke does, you'll be more of pushing him in the direction you want him to go.

Thats an interesting way to put it, but isn't the end result the same?

Edit: I do like the op's idea.

But that's stupid. Making him all goody too shoes makes him look like a wuss and you miss out on rather funny dialogue, but making him all badass will sometimes be too mean and I usually don't know whether, for example, Shepard will act racist and mean or make a sarcastic badass threatening joke

That's why there's a middle option.
