What would you call it when no real reason was given?

Not laziness because the've actually created more work for themselves. They could have just done DA2 with exactly the same look and gameplay as DAO but they aren't.Davasar wrote...

As for no reasons given, I disagree with the change to companion customisation but they have given reasons for it. The only change they haven't been entirely satisfactory about is the lack of an isometric view or a free tactical camera, every other change they've given reasons for.

Except they have given their reasons over and over.
You might not like voiced PC but Gaider et al have explained why they wanted to go that route. (fyi I am not certain that I like it but I am not claiming that they haven't explained it).
You might not like the wardrobe limitations on the companions but they explained that they wanted to use distinct body types. Again I am not certain that its the best way to go but they have explained their ideas on this matter several times.

I just saw this screenshot:
Now I may not know what the question is, but all of these answers look absolutely the same to me and I have no idea what Hawke is going to say.
In ME it really annoyed me that I didn't have completely control over what Shepard says and is my biggest complaint about Mass Effect. Half the time what I chose and what Shepard said was completely different. I say: "AI is dangerous", Shepard says: "I HATE AI, KILL ALL AI !!!" which wasn't at all what I was expecting or wanted to say. I had to replay each dialogue a dozen times so that Shepard finally says what I want him to say.
I'm sure a lot of you want complete control over what Hawke says. A simple way to solve this is to just add something like right click the dialogue option and make a pop-up box come out that says the EXACT words Hawke is going to say. That would make everybody happy (both people that like ME dialogue and people that want full control over what Hawke says). Just copy paste the subtitles into the pop-up box.

The problem is, we don't know to which extent Hawke will go. I intend to have a sarcastic personality, but I've seen the scene where Carver dies and I've absolutely no idea whether the sarcastic option will make Hawke look like an insensitive jerk, for example.
I'm a pretty sarcastic person, myself. But I wouldn't really consider witnessing the violent death of my younger sibling an appropriate moment to crack a joke. In that particular case, I think any sarcastic reply would make you look like an insensitive jerk.

Maybe it sounds good in theory, but thinking about the whole process when first I carefully read the line and then lean against my chair and watch the character deliver it … just no. Now this is what I call immersion-breaking. Not to mention that choosing different options from the radial menu can also trigger actions, short dialogue sequences and other stuff – how would you handle that?
I think that paraphrases – as a concept – is a great idea for the voiced protagonist. If anything, I support more accurate paraphrasing, intension icons and going away from «top=good, bottom=bad» scheme.

As long as Bioware keeps all trace of Paragon/Renegade or any analogous version of that system out of my Dragon Age, I can cope with the wheel, as it makes cut scenes a little cleaner, via not having your character repeat themselves.

Thing is, I'm an amateur programmer myself, and it wouldn't be too hard to make a popup appear and simply get the text from the subtitles. All the text is there, it just need's a popupfilaminstrel wrote...
From what I hear of the new Deus Ex game, I now believe BioWare should just sendspiesrogues to infiltrate Deus Ex headquarters, and copy exactly whatever it is they're doing regarding paraphrases/full text. Hooray stealing!

There would also be legibility problems for console users if Shepard has a long reply. Of course, there's no reason why consoles would have to get the pop-up feature in the first place.
