Is a dual-wielding rogue with two longswords very practical? I know the better long swords can have a pretty high strength requirement, so I'm wondering if it's possible to have a great build that uses two longswords instead of the usual daggers.

It's definitely doable. The problem is that you're so slow with two swords. I tried a two sworder and wound up getting frustrated by the lack of stabbitiness.

Two swords can be very powerful. I especially like a Max Str, 36 Dex, 22 Cun rogue. More of a Warrior/Rogue hybrid. Go for some heavy or massive armor. The speed difference between dual sword and dual daggers is not actually that big.

Plus with a high strength some of the Dual Weld special attacks hit a lot harder. You don't have the stamina of a warrior so you can not spam talents, but sometimes they can save your rear end.

With massive armour, you would get a lot of unwanted and negative attention from enemies though, right? Wouldn't I have to put a bunch of points into constitution as well to compensate?

Not really, just don't lead with your rogue. Lead in with a warrior. Plus, as a strength rogue you can be a more in your face style. Open with Dirty Fighting/Riptose for a stun and freebackstabs. Also, equip lots of poisons like Deathroot for the paralyze.

I find the Lifegiver ring + fade bonus more then covers your health. And if you really want to be tough equip Calians armor too.

I tried this and I found I really did not much care for two long swords (but was still fun playing with them). I seemed to sacrifice my speed and quickness more for strength. Which of course is still important for a rogue but since my party has 3 tanks(Alistair, Sten and Ohgren)  I stopped wielding the two longswords.I have found that I prefer daggers due to the high armor penetration and critical hit rates. They are a lot higher than long swords but then again long swords also have a the higher damage factor too.

I have also found that I prefered high tiered leather armor versus heavy plate when I did the double long sword wielding. Although if I wear plate i prefer to wear the Warden Commander as the boots alone give you 50% more stamina. That helps to balance the fatigue ratio as a rogue if you keep your strenght at a certain level. I have taken a great liking to the Felon's coat and Shadow of the Empire leather armor.

So after having played with multiple types of weapons I find myself keeping at least one longsword (either starfang, maric or duncan's blade) a dagger (usually duncans) and an axe (again either Axe of the Grey, Bloodline or the Aodh or all 3) handy. I keep  them loaded with master and grandmaster runes. This way I can switch to whatever weapon works best in whatever situation I am in. Posted Image

But to each their own and have fun experimenting!

I love a two-sword special spamming warrior(or dual axes like my current dwarf). Seems like a rogue's stamina pool would limit them quite a bit though if you tried to put them in heavy armor

I really never noticed problems, but I tend to go with Fatigue Friendly armor such as Evons & Wade's combo, Warden Commander set, Cailan's set, etc.

^^ This. Or you could wear some light armor. Felon's Coat is really nice.

If you are really worried about stamina then you could pick up Feast of the Fallen. The final assassin talent. It restores stamina when ever you kill something with a backstab or get one of those deathblow animations. Playstyle is to open up with Punisher or Flurry on the first target (which will usually kill it), then Dirty Fighting and repeated backstabs on the next. You basically want to rotate Punisher/Flurry/Dual Sweep/Whirlwind with Riptose/Dirty Fighting.

Any time you run low on stamina you have to play like a normal Rogue to restore your stamina. It is more of a Warrior/Rogue hybrid playstyle. But I think it is very fun.

Two long swords is great. The best ones to use is Topsiders Honor and Gorim's Sword.
