Just in case this might interest someone, here is how I ran through the Silverite Mines without any issue or losing equipment:
1. I performed a save before going thru the Silverite Mines door.
2. I checked that no NPC is wearing DLC-specific items (except Awakening ones), name-restricted items or arcane warrior-restricted items, according to the posts I have read about Silverite Mines issues on this forum.
3. (optional) As I was using No Helmet Hack mod, I re-enabled helmet display on all characters using the tome in inventory. I then performed a new save, exit to main menu, disabled No Helmet mod (both version, Origins and Awakening), force load the previous save then performed a new save.
4. I stripped my main character of all equipement.
5. I went thru the Silverite Mines door.
After the cut-scene, my team woke up in jail and all their equipment have been removed, except for standard clothings.
Important: If your main character still have some equipment on him/her or if there is some items in the inventory at this stage, this means that you forgot to remove an item that will cause issues.
During the Silverite Mines crossing, I found three experimental subjects wearing the equipement of my teammates but the fourth one (which looks like you) had no equipment. Its body, unlike those of other ennemies, was not removed but it cannot be selected. So, at first, I thought that all my equipment have disappeared. I decided to continue playing anyway.
Now for the good news: all my equipment (and the rest of the inventory) was stored in the chest near the merchant met before the final Silverite Mines room.
90% of the people that post in this thread have done so because they encountered this bug then looked through the forums to find out if there was any way to recover from this unfortunate issue. Bypassing the bug with these steps won't help those that don't use excessive save-creation practices - or those that are unable to do so.
The cause of this issue is now well-documented and it is in Bioware's court to fix it or not.

Thanks for the information guys. It's concerning to know this is still happening... I'm passing it along. Out of curiosity, are you using any third party mods? If so, have you tried the encounter sans mods?
edit: for clarity.
Thank you Nathan. I appreciate recognition, and so do others. I do not have any mods installed, and I still got this bug/glitch. The equipment that disappeared... some was from Awakening itself. It may be related to the fact that the merchants in Vigil's Keep's inventories are restarted... For example; My clamshell armor disappeared, but the merchant outside Vigil's Keep was selling it again, because it was at that point in the game going into the final act. Is it possible that your inventory, when imprisoned, could restart as well and somehow transfer back to the merchant?
To the fans... you don't attack people who reach out to help. Be thankful for any help offered.

While I understand your sentiment, I guanrantee you I will not be "thankful" for somone doing their job which patching a game and making it playable is. While I appreciate Bioware employees coming to the forum and letting us know they are looking into it.
But no you obviously shouldnt attack anyone, for any reason, on the forum since that destroys communication between the parties. So blaming/attacking Nathan for something hes not personally responsible for is unfair and rather childish if you ask me.

It is true that if Patching Origins was a priority to Bioware, then these fixes would already be fixed. But being that it's not a piority, at least not above DLC/Sequels, we really have no choice but to take the next best thing. For the most part, most of the bugs/glitches have been dealt with, but there are a few more. Silverite Mine I would say is the biggest. Missing ancient elvish boots is annoying on pc... couple talents that don't work is annoying... these things should easily be fixed... However, Bioware may be having trouble fixing the Silverite Mine issue. If Bioware stats no more patches, then I'll turn to the fan community for a mod patch. Easy peasy.

I still get this bug, I even tried a clean install, no mods and even no DLC just to see. A new warden in awakening does not produce this bug, only transfers (for me at least). I'm about ready to throw in the towel. My dao is nothing but a crashfest when dragging a mage with me, or maybe its enemy mages...I don't know. Base game was fine, 1.01 and 1.02 -0 problems, 1.03 crash, crash and crash, 1.04 did not help it.

This is a bug/glitch for all, it's not be fixed yet by Bioware. So it's normal that it's happening to you.

Sorry that was just me smashing my fists full of rage on the keyboard. Sadly I didn't save it before I entered the mine, now I have nothing at all apart from 2 steel Darkspawn daggers.....
Please fix this if you're making another patch, PLEASE!!
I honestly can't believe it...it has ruined my whole game.....

I was pretty mad when it hit me because I had no idea. By the time I got to the chest that had my stuff, all of the auto-saves were after the bug. This seems like something that should have been fixed with 1.04, instead of a bunch of little things.

In the end, I never got it back and all of my saves were for Silverite Mine. I had to start all over again. I'm not going to start screaming since I was enjoying the game and probably would've played through it anyway. I just wish there was some warning that this is a known and common bug so we know it is coming and can prepare. Even if you cannot fix the bug yet, Bioware. At least warn players like me so we can just take off our gear before entering or at least get a fresh save just in case.

I've tried it both ways, with and without mods. I will note that the 'no helm hack' mod, will cause this to happen more often. The only sure fire way to get all your equipment back is to get your PC nekid and remove the helms on everyone(regardless of whether you have any mods installed).

Sadly I got the bug like you all and I can confirm it's still active.
Luckily I had a recent save before entering silverite mines and I was able to apply the process that allows to bypass that problem (remove on all characters all "personnal use or class only" items to place them in packs).
All my characters recovered their stuff from dead bodies of "experiments"(ghouls).
My character was able to proceed the same to one little exception : what he had in weapon setup 2 was not in the dead body...
All the remaining stuff including missing weapon's setup's gear was in the chest near the npc seller at the end of the lair...

I don't know if Qwinn's Fixpack would fix it. It's worth a try. Especially considering it actually works, while fixing a whole world of glitches and bugs, unlike these terrible patches Bioware keeps spitting out.

Just went through the thread as yet an another victim of this heartless bug, 2 times none the less!
- 1st time i had to reload at pretty much the start of awakening; the bug was towards my char directly, some gear stayed on him the rest simply vanished.
- 2nd time had an arsenal of saves rdy and disabled most addons; this time the last experiment simply didnt show (the one with anders' stuff, even though he was saying: hey that's my stuff.
I'm guessing the only safe way to go is to simply remove ALL gear from evry1 b4 entering end of story...
As for my 2cents on the mini drama about nat; eventhough bruno was condescending, your reaction and reply was still overkill and even out of place if you ask me.
As a dev or whatever your job is at Bioware, you should expect all the unpleasantries a forum brings; especially on a topic of this nature.
I believe that as part of Bioware staff you should remember that the second you post you pose yourself as a spokesman for the entire company, and hence should show more restrains on any emotionnal outbursts (provoked or not) and advertise your ability to help rather than your ability to reprimend.
At least that's my opinion, over and out.

Would be really embarrassing for Bioware if a team of payed professionals is not capable what a single guy can do in his free time.

my guess is that they simply decided that the required time to do it would be best allocated somewhere else.
In the end their priorities must englobe a scope simply too vaste to be in tuned with ours who simply care about playing that particular game now.

runscript zz_fab
which ports you to a room with chests of all the armors, weapons, runes, etc. I found most of my stuff there.
For DLC items, I needed to download this mod: http://www.dragonage...ile.php?id=1131 to enable item-by-item adding, but you need the exact item code for your item. Unfortunately, I couldn't find these things (if someone knows them, please let me know, else I may boycott finishing the game by principle...lol):
Asturian's Might - I found a code for the Steel version, but don't know the Silverite one.
Archivist's Sash - must... reacquire....
Golem Shell Armor
<grumble> pretty ticked off at the game atm. Two huge bugs in a single day.
