No, you play as Hawke, a new character. However, you do get to transfer your DAO save into DA2 to see the effects your choices had from a different perspective

Man... I was hoping I'd get to keep using my character. I like being a Grey Warden. But I was thinking they would continue because of the "Origins" thing.

The game is called "DRAGON AGE", not "Mute Gay Warden's story"

Hawke is voiced and is human (you can't choose to be elf or dwarf) and has a set origin (you don't get to choose one)

Also called "Origins". Origins of what or who then?

The gimmick of the game, and it was a throwback to the "origins" of Bioware as a gaming company.

The first one is called Dragon Age: Origins, because it had multiple origins to choose from

The second is called Dragon Age 2, it doesn't say origins anywhere
