@filetemo: meaning, how classes are put together, how abilities are accessed.
For instance, I was talking with my friend about classes. Compared to D&D 3.x rulset mechanics, there are feats one can take for proficiencies in weapons. In DA, there are talents that are limited to classes, whereas feats in D&D can be taken by any class.
It kinda erked me that warriors get no bow/xbow abilities because I was comparing warriors of DA to fighters of D&D. Similarly, A mage in D&D can get weapon proficiencies and weapon feats like Rapid Shot.
I like the freedom of building classes in D&D.
What if classes were more like preset packages, and you could build your own class? (of course, that would change the game so that all players had both a mana and stamina pool) Or perhaps, instead of multiclassing, there were subclassing/minor-class that allowed you to access abilities?
Or, another idea is just to have something similar to feats in D&D where certain abilities are global to all classes that aren't class-restricted, but just restricted by other prerequisities.
