In JE you were the Chosen One by virtue of beign the only one left, not by Fate, which is the point.
Hope not, I already feel like Hawke has "stolen" the Warden place as main character, and this would add to it. I wouldn´t mind seeing him as Flemeth´s Chosen though.
But the Warden was only the main character in Origins. There was never any indication that his story would extend past that. Just as, for the moment, there's no indication that Hawke's story will extend past DA2. The cool thing about the Dragon Age setting is how big it is. The world's huge, which means we may see a large number of main characters in varying locales.
The problem is they're hyping Hawke out to be the most important individual in all of Thedas (or am I mis-quoting what we know?). Which means that he's not just DA2's important character, he's more important than the Warden, not just on the same level as him.
It also makes things really cheesy should they do a Dragon Age 3. If Hawke is already the most important individual in Thedas, then they're going to have to come up with an even more over-the-top description of DA3's protagonist.
If they'd simply left out the "importance" of Hawke and just described him as being "one of the most important figures" instead of THE most important, then I wouldn't have much of an issue with it. As it is now, Hawke's destined to become greater than my Warden. And personally, I don't see the need for it. They could have just told the same story while keeping them on even "importance" to the world.
