Wow that was off topic for a while.
Sorry if I threw the conversation into the gutter for a bit.

Literacy in Orzammar...
I mean apart from the scholars in the Shaperate is there any interest in literature etc in Orz or would that be considered a bit effeminate...
I guess literacy amongst the dusters is virtually non-existent... But what about the nobility, dwarves seem to be more about fighting and practical skills than reading... Dagna of course being an exception...

Ah, I was going to ask whether noble hunters were literate... It seemed to me in the manner of geishas and other courtesans that they should be... Nothing better to fall back on than storytelling when other things fail/are over...

When things fail/are over they are just dusters that can read. There is no qualified work for them, and what duster affords paying a story-teller?

I doubt it. Grey Wardens typically don't live in Orzammar but they technically keep their caste and name. If Oghren was considered of House Branka instead of house Kondrat then he would still be Oghren Branka. I'm not sure if he IS considered a part of Branka's house as she can put in or take out whoever she wants and she may very well have removed him when she left.Maria13 wrote...
How would a Shaper refer to Oghren: the GW Oghren, late of house Branka?

Considering he's a castless he's kind of used to being treated like crap and as such he simply views his name, Mistake, as simply his name.KnightofPhoenix wrote...
Damn, I'd hate to have her as a mom. Imagine what kind of bullying "Mistake" went through. What does he think of his name?
Well he's got a large protective side towards his sister and had so since she was little, He's the one who's made sure her name is Rica and not..something worse from her mom, by continuingly calling her Rica.Caak7i wrote...
Man, that sucks for him. I would have a huge chip on his shoulder towards my mom and the nobles if I was in his situation. Will he be glad to leave Dust Town and become a GW?

So Duncan kind of had to drag him out of there.
Yes, He does look older then her doesn't he?Sarah1281 wrote...
@The Almighty Ali: So this is an AU where the DC is older than Rica?

Behold!
My Dwarf Commoner character, "Mistake".
He got the name because his mother, A noble's daughter got one day rather tipsy and ended up with a castless. She got pregenant and was disowned by her family and tossed away to dust town, going about her days simply drinking and getting money for alcohol. He was her mistake and thus since she would call him that as he grew up he had it as a name.
