Wha... Sten? No mention of Sten as of yet. I doubt Hawke is gonna just sit there twiddling her/his thumbs.
The signature edition has a sword called "Might of the Sten".
That's the only mention of him. Assuming that this is the same Sten.

It's speculation on my part more or less but if they were going to send any one to lead an invasion of Fereldan it'd be someone with intimate knowledge of the country.
He hinted at that in DA:O.

Well that makes Sten's name not so special.

For "Sten" the Qunari name for him is like his genology/pedigree/ and birth description.
Qunari just get called after their job. So calling Sten "Sten", is liking calling a Army Sergeant "Sergeant".
Or that is what Mary Kirby said.

Did we, the board of Dwarviness, issue a ruling on this issue?
We should totally have a board of Dwarviness btw.

Origin Oghren was not that bad. He did have his momensts, but in Awakening he just turned into a walking/talking gag.

I dunno, I hated him in both for a long time, but lately have found myself liking him in both. Especiallly Awakening, I'm glad he wasn't OMG REDEEMED AND FINE just by working with my wardens. I like that there are pieces of that Oghren, but that losing Branka, being a surfacer, trying to move on and failing, have HAD an impact on him. One that isn't made all better by the presence of greatness that is the PC.
Meantime, he seems to be a bit concerned about what he was doing about 18 years ago, or rather whom...cuz this girl shows alot of Oghrenisms >.<

Awakenings Oghren is a disappointment, of course, but... like that's never happened before in the annals of alcoholism. He fell off the wagon. It happens, and sometimes it happens a lot of times. The cycles of promising to get better, appearing to get better, and then getting sick again are kind of typical of the disease, and the anger folks feel toward Oghren is also pretty typical.

So true.
Add to that, his former wife got his entire family killed. The way I understood it, his house joined hers when she became a paragon. I took that to mean more than just his in laws may have been with her, and lead to their horrible deaths. In one fell swoop he was abandoned by his wife, his family taken away (and eventually killed), and I truly believe had his heart shattered. He did love Branka, it's right there on his sleeve. If he wasn't an alcoholic prior to this, surely it was the catalyst. Then when he finally does get to find her, he can't save her.
I don't think even a sober person could ever recover from all of that. They may have moments of "normal and happy" but they'd just never be whole. I give him credit for trying to move on with a new life, but I understand why he is the way he is. And I even understand why he did what he did.

Both statements are entirely correct here. I love Ohgren both in Origins and Awakening. He is stereotypical and non-stereotypical for a dwarf, and that makes his character that much more interesting. I consider him to be honorable in some aspects. Like sure, he's a drunkard most of the time, but that could be because of the reasons above, and we don't know if he was abusive towards Branka (probably not, nothing implied in conversations points to such) or Felsi (only thing he did was abandon her and the baby for the Grey Wardens). In my mind, better to be a deadbeat, abandoning father rather than one that stays and is abusive (I know I would have preferred if my own father just left my family when I was little, because he was and still is a alcoholic **** I wish wasn't in my life).
I personally don't get the comparisons between Ohgren and Jar-Jar Binks (there are some I've read here) and I feel he deserves a break from the hate.

I don't really like Alliance side much, despite dwarves! I've tried. Just find it really formulaic and dull, and probably years of pvp has built up some resentment. Horde have far more interesting races. Trollses! Orcsies! annnnddddd Tauren

is that Ulduar? *dusts back WoW senses* it's been a while. I am going back into WoW for Cata, and hopefully I won't end up raiding at 2am in my underpants like I used to <.<
It's Halls of Lightning in Ulduar ye.
As for raiding till 2 AM? I seriously lol at US guilds...the times I ever raided beyond 1 AM ( and that usually was the case for me as I live in a GMT+2 zone ) can be counted on one hand, and all of those were my own choice rather then the guild wanting me to raid.
The guild I am currently is Realm 4th on Silvermoon EU and I haven't raided past 12 with em.

Horde was interesting, but eh. I like being a Paladin PERIOD, and Blood Elves suck so much in looks ( I played one for 3 years. so I would know! ). While Tauren Paladins are just LOLZ to the maximum when they come in Cata.
I found my experience on Alliance side to be **** except for the guild I am, though it is a former Horde guild which faction changed.
