My DC was a bit nervous and quickly got a phobia for forests.

The DN was intrigued... until he reached Ostagar and felt like the walls were falling on top of him.

My first DC was like Sigrun.

"ooh trees smell nice!"

"hey its not cramped and dark out here and I can see for MILES!"

In praticular he loved the stars alot.

My two DN got those full body shakes and had trouble looking up for months. Didnt stop Dain from buggering off into Orlais when Origins was done.

Although Thorin ran back to Orzamar like his pants were on fire. Mostly to kill Harrowmont for being an idiot, and to try and get military aid from Fereldan you know actually aiding people.

Ran over to DA to dig up another stunning piece I had seen recently.

What's really impressive is that the artist hadn't played the game and did the art for a friend. I thought he captured the essence very well.

The arrival at the surface picture is very lovely, but I keep thinking, "Must be a dwarf commoner. Duncan's got his hand on his man-purse."

I always figured my DN was very stoic about the whole thing. Only time I had him lose his temper was with the Scout, and that was mainly for the murder knife scene.

I'd played him as if he'd always planned to leave to become a Grey Warden in order to avoid the succession BS, and so he'd done research about the surface world to prepare. Still freaked him out but he knew what he was getting into.

My DC was more then a little freaked out about it. But his sheer joy of having left Orzammar, killing Bahrat, and becoming a Grey Warden over ruled it.

Same here. my Tryna was rather like Sigrun but with fouler language! Of course she went back after Amaranthine, so Mam could meet her new son in law and she could be near Rica and her new nephew. Plus, as the only living, and first DUSTER Paragon she should be visible. Seemed a good place for a Paragon Duster and her man to hang out. You have the excitement of dwarven politics (and by that I mean murder plots, poisonings, and general intrigue), Darkspawn to battle, and plenty of Ale. The crows aren't going to get anywhere near you, and you get a big fancy house in the diamond quarter. Who can complain! They sure LOOK happy don't they?

I think it's cute how much you love Tryna. I get nostaligic at times for what-might-have-been with Gilsa and Alistair, but it is what it is. I do look forward to finding out how the drunk Alistair thing works out in DA2. He's such a good character that I hope he gets a second chance to turn things around.

Anyway, that's not why I'm here! They put up a dwarven t-shirt in the Bioware store today:

She's become my favorite dwarf. Surpassed my nobles by a MILE. They may still be choking on the dust!

I saw that shirt today. I'm probably going to order one, along with the grey warden thermal (it's effin cold in the pacific northwest gah!). Oh and a Penn State sweat hoodie too...show my school spirit;)

Dwarf types! Yes, you. A question, out of interest:

The guardian of the sacred ashes asks the player about their past, questioning them on whether they think they failed. What does he ask Dwarf Commoners? I don't remember any obvious tragedy in their origin.

The mage origin doesn't have much in regards to tragedy, particularly if you don't like Jowan. The DC does have the (justified) worry that Beraht will have Rica raped and killed.

Guardian: You rose above your caste to become a Grey Warden, but you left behind your family who relied on you. Tell me, pilgrim, did you fail them?
PC: Yes. I should have done more to get them out of there./Yes. I should not have left./No. Even if I'd stayed, they would still be miserable./No. They said I should go anyway.

I think that (as well as the mage one, come to think of it since Jowan really failed me and Lily instead of the other way around) this is kind of a stupid question, though. I mean, you staying wouldn't have made life any better for Leske and Rica was already getting moved out of Dust Town by Bhelen her mysterious noble lover and taking Kalah with her so it's not like you were leaving them in squalor.

Hrmm. That's a bit strange, yes. Rica presumably lives a more comfortable life than the warden does, and it's not as if you're in a position to help Leske.

And what's more, you can do this after Orzammar so you're well-aware that Rica is an ecstatic mother living in a palace and concubine to the king while Kalah at least has better ale to drink and Leske tried to kill you so if anyone failed anyone it would be him so the question makes even less sense. At least with the DN the question about failing Trian makes more sense because, while game mechanics prevent it, it is possible that you could have found a way to at least get Trian through the day alive. Even then, though, unless you quickly killed Bhelen then Trian's days were numbered.

Yeah...you know I can't remember if you can tell Leske off or not for betraying you when you see him there.

I believe it's set up so you're feeling guilt over Leske. He's your best friend, and while he encourages you to go, I imagine he grows some resentment that you've gotten out and he's had to kiss Jarvia's arse to survive, and still live the life of a duster.  Tryna certainly felt bad leaving, and was stunned speechless when she found him in the hideout.

I am in the process of making my first game object specifically for dwarf commoners and would appreciate some input. :)

Its going to be a ring...called Rica's Ring and will be in the inventory once the dc leaves with Duncan to Ostagar.

My question is one attributes should I add to the ring? I was thinking +1 Cunning +1 Willpower.

Does anyone have any suggestions? :wizard:

Depends on the class.

Warriors: +1 Str, +1 Con

Rouge: +1 Dex, +1 Cunning.

That would make it worth to keep for a longer while at least.

+1 constitution, maybe? She's pretty resilient and no matter what happens all game she manages to hang on and end up alright.

Hmmm. I wonder if I can make two and the appropriate one ends up in DC's inventory according to their class.

Thanks for the help Giggles! :D

If this succeeds I will do one for Dwarf Nobles...Gorim's signet! :wizard:
