Interesting. Thanks Corker!
I can definitely see the Shaperate ruining the idea of the Legion of the Dead becoming its own caste, for the reasons you stated. Though I suppose it would depend on what those "restrictions" really were.

Hmm, while not DA related, what are some good flaws I could give my Dwarven society for the world I'm creating?
As I've written them so far, they seem to have no real flaws -- whereas Dwarven society in DA has the caste system as a flaw.

Oppress a religious or ethnic minority.
Enforce rigid gender roles.
Xenophobic attitudes.
Imperial ambitions.
Corrupt leadership, civil and/or military
Inept leadership, civil and/or military
Exploitation of the poor
Slavery
Punishments do not fit crimes
Cruel or unusual punishments
Government absolutely intolerant of dissent
...seriously, tons of inspiration in the newspaper.

Huh... I just remembered that some of the ones you listed were ones I thought up weeks ago yet never wrote down. Ended up forgetting about them.
Slavery, C/U punishment, Intolerant of dissent, some corrupt leadership, and maybe to an extent xenophobia. Some of those I touched upon in what I've written, but never really noticed I wrote about them.
Thanks Corker!

Elthina will make a passing remark about how "The Maker chooses the most unlikely people to do His work. Even a Dwarf" and if Varric's in the party he'll remark "You haven't met many Dwarves, have you Your Grace?".
The conversation is something along those lines anyway.
But honestly? Dwarves don't get any recognition other then the codex on the Hero of Ferelden changing and that remark.

I just finished my noble dwarf run who romanced Alistair and concluded with the ultimate sacrifice. It's scary how this game can still get me to shed tears...

I'm replaying my Aeducan game and am finally going to finish it, since I never did. Great game. I think there is more reactivity in Origins for a dwarf PC than for an elf.
I caught this derp face and thought it was funny.

She sided with Harrowmont at first in order to do the Proving- to show Orzammar that not only is she still alive, she still has the ancestors' favor. Also to make Bhelen sweat. But in the end she went with the stronger king and put Bhelen on the throne. Also let Branka keep the anvil.

Interesting Addai, what other choices will you make?

She saved the Circle, ended the werewolf curse, spared Loghain, had him do the Dark Ritual, and chose the boon to have Ferelden help Orzammar fight the darkspawn. She romanced Zevran and left with him at the end to travel with Sten. I'm not going to play Awakening with her probably, so that will be the end of her story.

And the Crown?
Kinda a damned shame to not replay Awakening if you ask me but I do wonder whether or not the choices in final sequence ( after the Archdemon dies and if you are alive ) will have any impact whatsoever in the future....likely not.

Oh, she ended up putting Anora on the throne as sole ruler. For some reason the conversation to confirm Alistair's hardening never happened, so I didn't want to marry him off and make him king unhardened. He ran off to become a drunk. Having set aside her own vengeance to make Bhelen king, I figure she didn't have much sympathy for him abandoning the Wardens because they had made Loghain one.
I just replayed Awakening with my new elf mage, so don't feel like doing it again. It doesn't seem realistic she would go with Sten and Zevran and be back in 6 months to save Amaranthine.

Started searching for telemetry readings on DAO, came across that statistic again of 80% playing humans, 15% playing elves, and 5% playing dwarves... but also discovered this great cartoon:

Ahh, back to dwarfdom! Been a few playthroughs since I've played a dwarf. Great returning to Orzammar as a resident (or former resident) again, albeit in the midst of scheming, sanguinary siblings...
Jagan Aeducan :-)

No mention of the m!DN's child in the end slides???!!! Just had to vent... I was sooo anticipating reading a new epilogue slide on that- very disappointing. Maybe it's because my DN set his child up as a Harrowmont instead of Aeducan? Though why wouldn't he just take the child back later given that Harrowmont reinstates the DN as an Aeducan and Gorim helps the DN rebuild House Aeducan? No mention of his son regardless. *grumble* Someone really needs to do a mod that fixes the epilogue slides... on a game several yrs old heh...
The parents of Little Gorim (not to be confused with Big Gorim (also known as Uncle Gorim))...

This was the couple Jagan Aeducan had in mind for himself before Bhelen's impertenance (and after sleeping with Mardy, of course)... Ah, decisions and their consequences...

I'm also assuming that there's no way to actually meet up with the son? I mean, it was mentioned that Mardy and Little Gorim got a home after Harrowmont was enstated, but Mardy seemed to prefer to stay on the street all day instead... so things didn't change much for her. Unless they planned to build the house around her at that location...
On another note, since Jagan regained his Aeducan standing once again and returned to Orzammar, he can afford to gloat... Such as about the difference between the Caridin and Aeducan emblems... Aeducans have the longer beard! (Beard envy... you know how it is...)

Speaking of beards and dwarven matters... While Jagan was proceeding through the Gauntlet and moving past his now-wants-to-talk fratricidal brother Trian, he encountered a group of near-invisible Warden Party duplicates. But when the supposed Jagan doppleganger got close enough, it seems the not-quite-invisible not-Jagan was not a particularly practiced doppleganger... So much for fighting himself...

Short, dark hair, totally different armor, no moustache, and no beard... Tsk, tsk. By the stone. What sort of dwarva do these Andrastians take us for?
