Okay, I guess i should finally spell out why Gorim should not be hated.
1. You get him exiled. He loses both Aeducana nd Saelac status, as well as his caste and family.
2. He gets ambushed by bandits and loses the use of his leg while protecting your shield and letter. He somehow manaes to survive all the way to Denerim out of sheer loyalty.
3. He is not a warrior anymore. He has lost the last thing that defined him. He practically has nothing, can do nothing.
And even after all this, HE IS STILL YOUR MAN (Lord Aeducan) /You still have his heart (Lady Aeducan)
So, he's faced with these choices:
-die of starvation/ilness or watevr and completely fail you. The Shield of Aeducan and the letter from Endrin would be looted by urchins or thieves and never reach you.
-marry someone and, thus, survive enough for him to at least do a small bit of what he would actually do.
He does the latter, and when you finally meet him again, he lies to your face and says he's content, even though he's miserable, just so you wouldn't suffer more than you already are. And because he can't use his leg anymore, he pretends to be over you (or tries and fails) but decides he wants you to hate him or resent him and move on, instead of feeling utterly helpless and sufferrring for his ake. Really, he does all this and still suffers because he can't be there fr you.
He wants to be there for you, an he is, but in a very hopeles way.
Honestly, this is like the absolutely most tragic way of showing someone you would do anything for him/her.
Stop hating Gorim already.

No, Cailan resembles Trian. Since Trian and Bhelen look alike and Alistair and Cailan look alike, it fits.Raonar wrote...
And Trian... I think.

And it's not just because of Gorim, it's because everybody does it and because their epic Alistair love keeps them on the Surface and I've only read one DN story where I really think she's better off on the Surface.
Also:

Edit: I don't hate Gorim and I don't really blame him for reasons such as the ones you listed.

Lots of people wonder about why he's so eager to go back to Orzammar when he tells you how much he loves the Surface when he sees you but I don't recall him ever saying that, just that it's not as bad as he thought it would be and he's making the best of it. It's not ALL bad but he'd still rather go home.
Oh, and all the 'OMG, I hate Orzammar! Thank the Ancestors Alistair is here to rescue me from it!' aspsects of Alistair/DN fics also annoy me. You're a princess; you're life really isn't that bad and if you, the player, hate it then why are you playing the DN origin anyway?

That's just my take on the in-love-with-Lady-Aeducan Gorim. I thought about it, and how he tells you those things, and I got the inkling he wanted you to resent him, at least a little, to make your life easier.
Still, it's only my interpretation.

How in the world to you leap from Brosca to Pollyanna? The nicest my Broscas get is showing some sign of remorse if they kill someone that didn't totally deserve it.
