I should probably mentions before someone gets offended that I'm not calling the different species hookups in ME or DA beastiality. I was just trying to explain where I think my hangups about them come from. I'm sure your Alistair/elf, Zevran/dwarf, Shepard/Liara, Shepard/Garrus, ect. disagree with me. I don't really care. I'm not trying to tell other people to stick to the same species, that's just my romance guideline.

Seriously? They're worrying about the eventual population problems humanity could face from Asari/human unions given how fetishized Asari are (whatever the likelihood of that happening) and you're comparing it to a planned mass genocide of everyone who didn't happen to have blonde hair and blue eyes?

Actually no I was more meaning the Aparthied program of South Africa or the culture of the US before civil rights on interracial couples. Also multiple groups have done it not just the National Socialist party of 1930 to 1945 in Germany. And yes generally in history when people say "we must stop them from breeding with this group" it ends poorly.

If by 'think about things' you mean 'read your mind' or 'assume something Corker said was what you were talking about even if you didn't reference her post at all' then you're right, I wasn't thinking about things.

I didn't say I was in support for regulations against different species breeding either. Worrying about what could happen and what measures might be taken if humanity's numbers ever dropped far enough due to, among other things, Asari/human relations does not really warrant accusations of obsessing about racial purity. It's not about any one preferred ethnicity in that situation. It's more about trying to keep the human race from dying off, much like whale hunting became illegal when they almost got extinct or bald eagles were on the endangered species list for years with penalties for killing them.

No, it's not a problem in present-day ME but if the human population were to be severely reduced due to Earth being destroyed/a widespread human-only biological disease/the collector or reapers succeeding in building a human reaper that we were told would take at least the population of Earth then it might be a good idea just in terms of sustaining the population. That doesn't mean it's going to be good for individual liberties or not controversial, but if the worst did happen and the human race was, say, 40,000 then every child would count.



If nothing like that ever does happen then no, it wouldn't matter and the government is free to stay out of everyone's business. If it DID, however, then having Asari/human relations wouldn't make the other factos you mentioned like infertility, homosexual couples, people who don't want children, or home-done abortions (if those are banned as well) go away but you can see why the government would feel it were important that they stepped in to try and keep the human race sustainable.

Also even if it does go BSG on the human population, the human species can recover from giant loses :Mongols, Plauges, Floods, Vulcanos, etc.



I dont think we need to worry overmuch, outside or rats, bacteria, and rabbits we can repopulate as a species very rapidly. Also say a healthy human is married to an Asari for thiry years but the BSG event happens, it is a correct measure to force him to repopulate the species even against his will? Or turn women into incubators even if they dont want children?



I am sorry but in times of crisis you dont erase norms, and freedoms since it usually is worse in the long run.

 I think it depends on how serious the catastrophe is and whether you would prefer that literally the entire species goes extinct so your personal liberties aren't infringed upon. Of course, until something like that actually does strike the humans in the ME universe it's not even an issue as measures like that would only come up once the population was dropping to dangerously low levels.

I wouldn't be thrilled, of course, but I'm not so much of a hypocrite that I'd be in support of other people being involved in species-saving measures and refuse to get involved myself. Note that this is only in the case of the survival of the human race literally depended on taking measures like that.

I kind of assume that not finding a LI in Origins does not doom them to be single forever. My DNF probably will be unless she can find a noble that she likes but that's entirely by choice.
