Some more SC2 pics. You get choices here in this game. That hot chick is Nova, from the cancelled Starcraft Ghost game, she claims Tosh is psychopath, and yet if you help him you later find out from the cute Doctor that she was lying you.

Though I have to give props to the pro-Nova ending cinematic. Made me giggle a lot.

The Pro-Tosh one is far better in my opinion.

Oh btw. Apparently the guy voices Raynor also voices Albatross in Alpha Protocol.

My liking of Raynor just doubled.

About Tosh / specters vs Nova / ghosts issue, I don't know the specifics, but what I do know about the SC lore is that Spectres, while more powerful than Ghosts, are also highly aggressive in an almost unstable fashion (plus, they are addicted to some gas). In addition, Tosh and his highly aggressive anti-dominion stance might prove detrimental to Raynor allying with the Dominion / Valerian against the Zerg. I won't make the decision now beore playing the game naturally, but I am inclined to side with Nova with the info I have now. Perhpas the game will change my mind.

I admit, I also want Tosh dead partially because I am a Dominion sympathiser, but I can't apply that to Raynor.

Knight: I would read the wiki on Spectres, because Nova does lie to you. Hanson tells you this ( and Hanson is as goody toe shoes as it gets in the game ), and from what you discover from other discussions this is quite true.

Tosh and his highly aggressive anti-dominion stance

I think he mostly wants Mengsk dead rather then to take down the Dominion, however he does stay with you for the full campaign even after you ally Valerian ( or so I gather, as I have not reached that point yet ).

I admit, I also want Tosh dead partially because I am a Dominion sympathiser, but I can't apply that to Raynor.

Raynor is the biggest anti-Dominion in the game. While Tosh would be satisfied with just killing Mengsk, Raynor wants to destroy the Dominion as a whole.

One of the mission chains has you find an audio recording of Mengsk ordering the Psi Emitters to be turned on Tarsonis and you ( as Raynor ) to broadcast it to the public. You don't have a choice but to do the mission if you want to progress the storyline.

Well, the ritual with Morrigan supposedly works, so yes they can. And developers already said that human+dwarf=> half dwarf, while elf+ any species=> any species.

Ah groovy - of course.  /slaps own head.

I must say though  - it offends my sense of logic for that to be so.   Unless all the 'races' on Thedas have the same basic genetic code (if that's the right term).

DG also said that while dwarves are not very fertile to begin with, they're far less likely to produce an offspring with elves and humans. (Including link if you want to see the DG comments -- thread is not very long.)

Regarding the dwarf + non-dwarf romances, it doesn't matter as long as it's in good fun. I'd love for dwarf + dwarf romance, but if you're having a good time with the person you're with, then go with it. It's just a game. If the game actually addressed the complexity of mixed race unions (such as going back to Orzammar with a non-dwarf) in the same way Alistair had to address it for being king, then I can see it being a legitimate issue. Otherwise, who cares? The adventures of the origin dwarves ended at the post-coronation ceremony and as far as I can tell, we won't be playing them again so if I want to bring Alistair/Zevran/Leliana back to Orzammar, then I damn well can. I'm their paragon. ;)

Well since GW cant have offspring I doubt it matters who you are with.

Coupled with being a dwarf, then oh well.

Poking around Wikipedia... if they're the same biological Family (but not species), interbreeding could be possible.  Donkeys and horses (Family Equidae) can produce (infertile) mules; dogs and wolves and coyotes (Family Canidae) can produce (fertile) hybrid offspring.  I stopped poking after that; I suspect there are also examples of Family members who aren't cross-fertile.

I don't know how the wolf-dogs are classified, as dogs or wolves or as a unique hybrid (like the mule is), but if you reaaaaally stretch the point and declare that "they're dogs," that's analagous to the */elf = * pairing.

All of those issues prevent me from even remotely enjoying it, even in other people's stories. People always say to ignore it and just have fun but I can't find it fun. At all.

We've been through this before. It doesn't make much sense.

Edit: The explanation from the Gaider.

Do the descendants of elf-blooded humans who have repeatedly bred back to elves eventually become indistinguishable from normal elves?  And if so, could this, rather than any other reason, explain why elves no longer live such long lives?  Could it be that they're all a little bit human?

The child of elf-blooded humans and an elf is another elf-blooded human. Whether or not such a line would eventually become more "elven" is unknown -- the elf-blooded don't tend to distinguish themselves as a group for cultural reasons, and more often then not find themselves living amongst humans rather than elves. Saying that elves have recessive genes obviously isn't the answer -- I said a long time ago on the forums that elven genetics were "adaptive", but that's just an attempt to explain the phenomenon since people were insisting on talking about genetics. The elves don't know why it happens, and there's no understanding of genetics in the world to explain it... if that would even be the reason. More likely it has a supernatural origin relating to the nature of the elves themselves, though what that might be and whether or not the elves were truly once the immortals they claim simply isn't known.

I recently stumbled across old gaming notes that indicated one character was half-dragon.  Dragon.  Of course it doesn't make sense. :)

Ah, so your dislike of dwarf+something else romances strikes! I think now you have something in my story that you dislike.

As for that thing about elves... I think I'm content with just accepting it as fact and not trying to find out why their children turn out as they do.

Well, it's much more for DNs as I can't see why a DC should give a damn so it won't be something I dislike until/unless Raonar falls for Leliana/Morrigan/Zevran/random other non-dwarf but, as I usually do, I'll just put up with it. It's not my story, after all, and it's kind of petty to stay away from a good story because you don't happen to like the pairing.

don't. I go to the romance threads because they are more active than anywhere else and I'm perfectly content to have my HNF/Alistair or my anything elven/Zevran. You don't have to be so mean. Posted Image

It's not like I'm telling other people what to do or anything.

Why does it matter to a dwarf noble if they fall in love.
At the point they do they are exiled and have zero indication of ever being able to go home.
Also replace fat, with short and this song fits people who dont like Dwarf romances in Origin for the most part:

It DOESN'T matter. I just don't like it which I should be free to do without other people demanding reasons why. Posted Image

And just like other people are free to express their love or hatred of different characters, origins, LIs, ect., why can't I mention I don't like DN/anyone without people jumping down my throat?
