see, I'm thinking of the fit, hot men of various ages I perve over  I see near the army site (there's one near where I live) and...

hmm. Sorry, what was the question again? Oh! Beer bellies right.

*looks furtively around and goes to perve at men in uniform on Tumblr*

Unbelievably, it really is possible for fat and muscle to exist in the same body. Sometimes in great quantity. A *lot* of our best fighters in the SCA are sporting beer guts. They're just big guys, and sometimes big guys have big bellies. Sometimes they don't.

You are part of the SCA?

Anyway irrelevant, but just curios. On to the topic at hand though.

I think it should be mentioned that a lot of people in the military have beer bellies, but are still quite capable of fighters. Many people drink and quite a very big number of soldiers do as well, so it makes sense for dwarves to be like that since for them there is only war with no peace...

Still hate it though.

This
is true. My husband's in the Air Force, and quite a few guys from his squad are built that way. Our friend Nick, for example, has a stocky build but he constantly works out and aces his Physical Training tests. I've seen a few Marines and Army guys like this too; it all just depends on the body's muscle structure.

Your sentry/colossus build is useless. Not only Colossus expensive as hell, but they can't actually hit a Terran with decent micro ( who will just dance around your Colossus ) AND they can be hit by Vikings in flight mode. Also EMP blast does reveal Hallucinations for a short time, so Sentries are useless.

Colossus range upgrade alleviates this.
And I am not interested in hallucination.
It is an expensive build, hence why a Protoss ought to out macro a Terran and use void rays to harass expansions.

I'm getting the game tomorrow, so I'll try it out and see if it's good or not.

It's a late game build for a game where most matches end mid game at best and has every possibility to blow up in your face. Not only can Terrans demolish your Void Rays using Vikings and Ghosts, but those same Vikings will trash your colossus which will have no way to return fire, once the colossi are dead then Vikings can switch form and with the ghosts they will trash your Sentries.

Sentries are good against air. They trash mutas, maybe they are also good against vikings, dont know yet. If not, then stalkers will do the trick. And Colossi are not necessarily end-game, you can always rush and have them mid-game. I've seen them used mid game in yt replays.

You only have to look at your average power lifter to see very strong, muscular guys who carry some fat.

When you get it, tell me your character code and nick and I will show you how wrong your strategy is. :P

Hey give me a chance to at least test it! Posted Image
I never claimed I found the perfect strategy. In SC there is no perfect strategy. I was just interested in testing it and seeing the results. From what I've seen, I know it's good against the zerg, maybe it would be a valable strat against the Terrans.
And observers are there to scout Terran production, so if the Terran is massing vikings, colossi can no longer be used and a tech switch will have to be necessary.

Just because it's possible for fat guys to be strong and you can list plenty of examples does not mean I want to see that on my dwarves. Posted Image

There is a difference between "some fat" and "beer belly".

Entirely your perogative.

As a fat person who is disciplined, intelligent, healthy, busy, clean, and always surprises her martial arts trainers with how hard she can hit, I get annoyed when fat == weak-willed, stupid or ignorant, lazy, smelly and weak.  Fat is fat.

I don't mind "I don't want to see fat dwarves, I don't like them."  I mind "Dwarves shouldn't be fat because they're strong and active, and nobody who is strong and active could be fat."  It just ain't so.

Hah, the hardest hitters in the army that I ever met where ALL fat, so anyone who thinks like you say in the last part is just spinning bull****.

It's not like they were stick figures in the first game, you know. I just don't see why they would need to be wider or be a species that, to a man, possess a beer gut. And you just know that they wouldn't just have some of them have it. If they give young teenagers and the old and decrepit the same body type, whatever they do to a few dwarves would be done to them all.

Maybe it's just that one Dwarf in the concept art that possess a beer gut?

. . . . Wishful thinking? Yes.

edit: Then again it IS concept art. The odds of their looks changing even more is high.

I don't mind the "beer gut" however you guys call it.

I just have a hard time picturing Bhelen with that kind of belly. Annnd, the dwarven npc that was revealed, the one with the coat, was not fat at all. So maybe not all of them are like this.

. . . . I just received one of those "Dear sir or madam, I need you to send me money to do something and you will benefit in some way" letters in my profile messages.

I'm surprised that I received it from the in-website email.

Soooooo....I submitted my Dragon Age: Thy end to Soignee's competition...I believe no one stands a chance...

Or maybe I have an inflated view of my work. "Laughs"

Isn't it supposed to be something new?

I mean, I have nineteen length-appropriate dwarf stories I could have just automatically submitted but I've been writing new ones because that's what I heard they wanted.

Yes, with my moderating powers of said competition, I can say that exposure before the competition was announced is a big drawback.

I talked with Soignee about it...she allowed me to put it in.

Although I will lose points for this, I am sure. It's my best work anyway...sooo!

Could have made another video, but I just feel I couldn't have matched Thy End without doing a video on the exact same thing but improved over thy end....and that seemed a big bleh to me.

I like how excited people are to be doing dwarf-related stuff. This competition has come at a good time so I've got a silly grin on my face when I see what people are putting into the pot. I don't really see it as a contest, but a collaborative community effort to sing and offer praises to the greatest race in all of Dragon Agedom.

One race to rule them all. One race to find them

One race to bring them all, and in the Darkness bind them.
