So we don't have a choice in the matter?

That's just wonderful.

Not buying it then. My canon pc is the kind of person that doesn't like to destroy potentially valuable ressources.

My cannon pc is the same, so a very very solid meh.

P.S. How you gotten SC 2? If so give nick and character code :P

And of course in the end you don't find another way to make Golems, but you destroy everything..

One of the Dace doesn't want the work destroyed either -- he fights to save the research and the notes, but everything comes crashing down so it's one of those "we have no choice, we must leave or die in here" scenarios. The whole thing ends in horror-style where there's more of those creatures emerging, indicating that it won't be the last we've seen of them da da dummm.

Can someone explain just why, exactly, they thought using flesh as a cheap alternative to stone and steel was a good idea? It'd be more effective and resource-efficient to just use the people they killed to fight and a large part of the reason that golems are so impressive is that they're not all soft and squishy like the actual people. Another reason they wanted golems was so they're not wasting dwarven lives and a lot of lives are lost to build just one of these flesh-golems. Granted, it's only the casteless so most dwarves wouldn't care but they're not an unlimited resource either.

You know I didn't mean that the casteleses were worthless and that it didn't matter since it was them. Rather, the fact that it was the casteless meant that most of the rest of dwarven society wouldn't care. The point was, one reasons golems were used was to save dwarven lives in the fight against darkspawn. Most dwarves would not be looking to save casteless lives since they don't care about them (to put it mildly). Even if they were willing to sacrifice a dozen or so casteless (however many it takes to create a flesh-golem) then they still couldn't build an army as, logistically, there aren't infinite casteless dwarves they can use.

I wasn't trying to imply any sort of morality to the issue and by 'only' all I meant was that from the other dwarves perspective, the casteless were a more than acceptable sacrifice. How, exactly, is saying that worthy of censure? Maybe it might have been phrased better but did you really think I meant it as a 'yes, let's sacrifice all the casteless to craft flesh-golems as I, personally, believe them to be worthless'?

A flesh golem?

Really? That's stupid.

After hacking, slashing, and buring through every goddamn zombie in Icecrown I don't think I could stand to even look at a "flesh golem".

I really wish there was an option to keep the anvil, and not turn it over to Branka.

If it was 99% of the rest of Orzamar than I would keep it, but its obvious she has gone into the land of "kukoo" and cant be trusted.

Oh well Bhelen does an impressive job without it anyway.

I don't think the goal was to make a flesh golem, but that it was a byproduct of the failed experiment.
Oh and lol, an award is named after me

I don't see how they could have expected anything but a flesh golem when they decided steel and stone was too expensive and they were going to craft their golem out of dwarven flesh instead. It was only a failed experiment in that it was homicidal and uncontrollable.

Why didn't they use a more abundant resource, like nugs?

Dwarves should be hairy. All those dwarves on Orz that are clean shaven or have only facial scruff arent real dwarves. They're just... short humans...
