Gorim is just way to awsome to be mean to.
Part bro, friend/"friend", hitman, assistant, and epic all rolled into one.

I know! I couldn't even get that dialogue in game, I had to hear it in the toolset. It is just...so...Posted Image

I think Gorim has to top the Origin companions for me.
He makes the whole Origin worth playing really.

Too bad his talent got wasted on Oghern. Though it is funny to hear the both of them talk at each other if you arent a Dwarf Noble.

Let me see:

Gorim > Leske

Gorim > Jowan (well, a big DUH)

Gorim > Soris

Gorim > Tamlen (another DUH)

Gorim > Eleanor

Yep, I would say he is the best Origin companion. Not to mention his "tiny" discount when you meet him again in Denerim.

Its almost criminal what you get away with there.
I am almost tempted to have Dain 2.0 become a merchant and have Denerim in his pocket with Gorim in some giant scheme. Ooh that is so much more tempting than being the King or a chancelor there.

Hmm, you could bribe the city like Al Capone and do whatever you want.

And Bhelen and Anora could visit Dain and Gorim's summer palace....
I like this idea, who needs a crown when you can be stinking rich!

I can also have Zevran and Leliana stick around too, wont need a guard dog since I have one as well!
Great now I have an image of Dain and Gorim in Mad Men style suits, some cool shades looking out over their city with them reclining in piles of money...

I was thinking with the Lyrium trade you could operate a smuggling ring to bring in more cash, but since Bhelen is on the throne, it kind of puts a dent on that idea with his pro-trade stance with the surface.

All you need is some thugs who can do your drive-by killings for you. Though I do not know what weapon would be the equivalent of a Thompson submachine gun.

I am in the process of reading the rest of the way through the thread now, but I am really enjoying the screenshots. I am going to do my third playthrough with my Rogue Assassin/Duelist/Shadow Triona Aeducan when WH comes out. Love the Dwarfs in DA. I'll have to do some screen captures this play through never really tried before.

Edit: Since I am reading your stories, I'll toss out named her Triona before I knew she would have a bro named Trian. had a relationship with Gorim, did not fool around with anyone else. Murdered Trion because her base nature was appealed to, then realized she was set up. Lied and got the sword, joined Wardens.

Was nice to Alistair, especially when she realized his background. Set him up as king. When she realized Gorim was married, had a fling with Morrigan (mod) then left when Morrigan got weird. Took up with Leliana. Set Harrowmont on throne, setting herself up as a possible heir. Returned to Orzammar and Paragonhood, and potentially Kingship.

Very friendly, but part of that is trying to consolidate power and allies. She saw what happened when her brother did that...she plans to have allies all over so it won't happen to her again.

Pic time! Too many posts without pics methinks. Here is me finding out my new DN is a pervert.

Sounds a lot like both my DNs - they were nice to people, but manipulatively so 'cos, well, they're Aeducans. Remember what Dulin says to you the first time you meet him? "I know you Aeducans and your thirst for glory..."

I couldn't help being a right b*stard sometimes though - my Duran kicked Nadezda in the face when she asked for money, and he slaughtered the werewolves 'cos he understood the need for vengeance that drove Zathrian. You can take the noble out of the Diamond Quarter, but you can't take the Diamond Quarter out of the noble, it seems...

I'm assuming, baronsamedi, that your post was your first on the thread. If so, then allow me to welcome you to an awesome thread about dwarves, the awesomest race in Dragon Age! And I totally agree with you on how amazing everyone's stories, pics, and experiences playing their wardens are. I was blown away myself when finding this thread.

I'm guessing most people playing DN ended up killing Trian. For my Aeducan, Sundira, I just had her decide to wait and see, because she wouldn't want to risk drawing first blood, and being blamed, and she figured that if Trian really wanted to kill her, he can seek her out. Unbeknowest to Sundira, however, her little brother set the entire thing up, having Trian killed and making sure Sundira looked like the culprit. In the game, however, I had her side with Bhelen in the end. Other than Bhelen being awesome, I'm planning in due time to write a fanfic to explain this and her motivations.

Another favorite thing to do as cocky, confident rogues is, when in Awakening, to refuse Varel's help in "A Brewing Conspiracy" and say the line (paraphrased) "Let them come at me. Better men have tried."

I made a whole myriad of screenshots and put them in a folder, then used Windows 7 nifty ability to cycle through all of them. Imagine, a few hundred screenshots, changing one ever 10 seconds. All you need is to use a program that randomizes file names and you're all set.

@saruman- I do in fact live in the US, and I am a MAJOR insomniac. Part of that is a result of not having a job at the moment (got laid off my last one a few weeks ago).

@soignee- thank you for the driveby dwarvesareawesomeokay, and welcome back from your vacation. Looking forward to whatever presents you have for all of us here on the thread :).

To bring my post back fully to dwarves... After finishing Awakening recently with the character I had romanced Morrigan with, I grew even more love and appreciation for Sigrun. In other posts, such as DA2 companion request threads, I've frequently requested dwarven female love interest, with the key factor being that she would be hot. I'd mention Sigrun, saying she was almost perfect, the only flaw being that I didn't really like her tattoo (looked too garish and out there, almost like a drawn-on beard imo). But after playing through, comparing to PC screenshots on the web, the PC version makes the tattoo not as noticeable. Sigrun is actually pretty cute. Plus I got to see even more personality as this was the first playthrough where I completed both her personal quests (joining, companion). The max-approval convo is very sweet. I was all sad-puppy-face when she said she was going to go to her Calling early and I wish my character could have all gone sad-puppy-face when he said "but I don't want to lose a friend."

Yeah... Sigrun should have been an LI...

It's a fair cop.  ;)

Triona did generally do alright for people, though she tended to lie to demons on general principle.

But the Diamond Quarter comment rings true. Triona would insist that she is a noble, and use her last name, long after being exiled.

Yea first read, first read through. I really enjoy seeing people's takes on the Noble and my wife has played as the Commoner so it is fun to see folks takes on that origin too.  I've saved several of people's cool dwarf pics on GP.

I seriously considered turning down help myself. It's just at the mention of the Dark Wolf I had to see who was using my alternate title. ;)

Triona is way to vengful to to work with Bhelen, plus he was less likley to die off then Harrowmont for power later. Now, Witch Hunt is nice and all, but I want something to hunt down Frandlin Ivo.

Also, I would have loved to have been able to have Sigrun as a LI. She is, as has been reiterated here, adorable.

I like playing Dain 2.0 as someone who is rejecting his entire old life.
Its fun to chose the dialouge that sounds the least like him from the Origin.

Playing some Gary Stu the World is just awsome noble, only to see one mistake claim your brothers life, see you and Gorim exiled, and knowing that you helped your little brother do all this is just the icing on the cake.

I feel bad for Dain, by the time he finishes a few more treaty quests he should be good. Although adjusting to being Dain the Grey Warden, rather than Dain the noble will be hard for him.

Although the surface isint so bad really to him. Outside the undead, demons, and darkspawn.

Oh, definitely. After all, on the Surface they're less pedantic about exiles and they don't pretend that those they exile no longer exist so to them you'd still be an Aeducan.
