I think Nerav and the DN barely knew each other. When she finds out who you are when first encountering her, you can say something along the lines of "Nerav? Is that you?". So I believe King Endrin and the head of House Helmi arranged the marriage without your consent. Not as bad as the CE origin however.

It's even weirder for DNFs. She says that you were almost sisters-in-law but since Trian was planning on proposing to Jaylia that kind of just leaves Bhelen...who she really seems to hate. If she hated her husband-to-be so much then why in the world is she so fond of you? Maybe she's upset that Bhelen decided against marrying her?

Well no...if Trian was going to marry Jaylia you would be sisters in law.

If Trian married Jaylia how would that make Nerav your sister-in-law? We don't even know how closely those two were related.

Nerav may be a distant cousin to the head of House Helmi. Sort of like how Jerrik is a distant cousin to Anwer Dace.

Well she is from house Helmi so it's very likely she, and Jaylia are sisters. We're never told how many children Lady Helmi have but if Trian had married Jaylia she'd be your sister in law.

How big are these noble families anyway?
#1833
Posté 13 septembre 2010 - 02:55
From what we're told they can get pretty massive. But in this case if Nevra is saying that she would have been your sister in law it would make the most sense she was Jaylia's sister who was supposedly engaged to or was going to be engaged to Trian going off her comments that is.

They're rather large apparently.

I doubt that she's Jaylia's sister. She seems to have nothing more important to do than standing around gossiping. In the DN origin, Adal is introduced as the eldest daughter of Lady Helmi meaning she has at least two. Denek would be her son. I suppose she COULD have four children but it seems rather unlikely given dwarven fertility issues.Well she is from house Helmi so it's very likely she, and Jaylia are sisters. We're never told how many children Lady Helmi have but if Trian had married Jaylia she'd be your sister in law.
Plus, like Thrubeingcool13 mentioned, she could just be a cousin. Piotin is the DN's cousin, the Shaper and Baizyl are Harrowmont's cousin, Baizyl's lover is a minor cousin of yours...House Helmi is bigger than just a nuclear family and a small extended family.

Or I could see Jaylia and Nerav being sisters if they weren't Lady Helmi's children. Maybe they could be cousins close to the top. Important enough to marry important Aeducans but not important enough to stay in House Helmi.

Yeah it just seems likely going off the comments so it's not too much of a leap of faith. Either way she really doesn't hold much appeal to me. Now Adal god I wish that girl had more then five lines of dialogue.

I found her to be the most difficult Proving fighter in the origin, so she has my respect.

Adal and Denek are definitely Lady Helmi's children, whereas Jaylia and Nerav are possibly cousins.
That seems the most likely to me. When you help Baizyl with his love affair, you find out that he's seeing a distant cousin to the Aeducans who is married to a prominent Deshyr's heir. Like Sarah said, important enough to be married off, but not important enough to stay with their house.

Been a while since I did a run through as a Dwarf so I'm a bit spotty. Still pay a good hunk of change for a game set in Orzammar though. Probably my favorite setting in the game, and that includes the Deep Roads.

Only thing I did not like about the Deep Roads were the spiders who ran around in circles and kept on overwhelming my Warden. Otherwise I would want to keep exploring the Deep Roads for more treasure from Thaigs and other stuff.

Ugh Spiders.....seriously the damn spiders in the game give me goosebumps. Doesn't help the first time I ran into them was during the Mage origin, and one descended right on top of me then overwhelmed me.

I just hate spiders so much.
At a zoo I had a huge one put on my arm. Just the thought of it gives me the willies even today.
The first time once jumped out at me gave me a shock.

Mmm...squishy mages. I am not afraid of the spiders it is just on NM difficulty all they do is chain-gang overwhelm you to death and there is nothing you can do about it. Plus the Crunchy sounds get annoying as well. I wish a dwarf would also get at least 10% immunity to overwhelms as well due to their resilient bodies.

I use to fear crustaceans myself. When I was young I used to have hermit crabs as pets, and when they die... Also trips to the beaches where you see more corpses did not help me at all.

Yeah the only good thing about them is they can't hurt you really if your a tank. It's if they end up grabbing Leli, or Morrigan that I start having issues. Though I suppose my Dex could be higher.

Always good to have massive armor and the Lifegiver ring for those pests. The werewolves in the Brecilian Forest love overwhelm as well on NM. Defense does not prevent overwhelms from what experience I have had.
Speaking of the Deep Roads, I wonder if there is another anvil that can be used to create golems in a lost thaig. I highly doubt Caridin would only build one anvil for something as imperative as an army needed to drive the darkspawn from the Deep Roads.

I would have kept the anvil..
If not for the fact that Branka is nuttier than squirel turds really.
Why she didnt backtrack and map the way back to Orzamar so that the entire ARMY and Assembly could help to reclaim it is stupid. If she had gotten back and said " I found it but hit traps" then ok. Her whole "I fed dozens of people to darkspawn and got some turned into broodmothers, all so that they could get killed in the traps!"
That has to be the single dumbest plan ever.

It made her crazy. From what I can gather it was whispering to her along the lines of the one ring the closer she got to it the louder it whispered to her so by the time she got to the traps it was pounding in her ears.
I doubt it. Caradin had this whole creepy secluded loner thing going on. Like he was unwillingly to share his secrets with anyone.

Plus she has a pig-like nose, one more reason not to side with her.
