There are much better armor sets out there then those. Dragonbone Plate, Legion of the Dead, Juggernaut. Kinda weird that your favorites are ones that you pick up pretty much any where if you look around enough.

Its a purely aestetic thing. Dwarven Heavy Armor is my favorite-looking armor in the entire game, and my male city elf looks like a real BAMF in it. Hence, why I'm depressed that I'll never see it for him again.

It isn't often, but I will forgo better suits of armor for ones that look better on my characters...

Sure... Just give me several minutes inbetween the tv show I'm watching to upload the specific digicam shots. I figure I might as well upload them anyway since they're not canon to the character anymore.

I am a mix between powergaming (more powerful items) and aesthetics for gear. One reason I played warrior two times straight is for the armor itself without worrying about a gimped character.

My rogue DC did not care about the rules of rogue gear and in the end slayed the AD in Cailan's Armor Set. Its shiny gold paint attracted my DC like a fly to a bright light. I completed one play through as a rogue in light armor and I hated it. Sorry, I do not like armor that looked like it came from a trash can in my opinion.

At least my next character will not have to worry about what type armor to wear. Then my DN will probably wear a Dwarven set of some sort of armor and will go S&S though that build looks dull at first glance but it will be for role-playing purposes.

Yep, thats the one Saruman and I are talking about. Though I'm assuming he means he wants to see a pic of my elf in it to prove my claim..

*in a cheesy announcer voice* Allright, Saruman, you requested it and you got it

lol in all seriousness though, I'm sorry for the next flood of pics (yes plural), but I want to show it from different angles. and here we go with the sales pitch...
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

*In an epic salesman voice* Fellow Dwarf-lovers, do not doubt the power of Dwarven Heavy Armor! It is a GREAT medium armor, forged by craftsmanship only found in the depths of Orzammar, that can be bought even before the middle of your epic quest. If you want protection, stopping power, but still want mobility, Dwarven Heavy Armor is the way to go! Plus, it is a great set of armor if you want to walk about town looking like a badass. Heck, even an ELF can look like a bad-ass warrior worthy of the Provings when wearing a set of Dwarven Heavy Amor. Just read this testimonial:

"I have a tough job, and it is tougher when people aren't initially intimidated by your stature, even with the position I hold. Traveling through Ferelden and the Deep Roads, it always helps to have not only tough, durable armor, but also armor that creates a powerful image and commands respect. Human armor doesn't cut it, and neither does the armor of my people, the elves. When I'm hunting down Darkspawn, fighting an Archdemon, running the day-to-day functions of Vigil's Keep, or searching for the love of my life and my old god child, I trust only DWARVEN craftsmanship to carry me through the day. Dwarven Heavy Armor is one of the best types of this armor, and is my personal favorite type of armor. It has everything I need, and is perfectly balanced. Thank you, Orzammar!"

*back to epic salesman voice* SO WHAT ARE YOU WAITING FOR? Go get a set of Dwarven Heavy Armor for yourself today!

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Notes:
1. Yes I just realized I made a very stupid post and I'm embarassed but I don't care, as I'm showing my love for my favorite type of Dwarven Armor, though I must say that I love ALL Dwarven armor the most.
2. The helmet featured was Corruption, which looked awesome with Volcanic Aurum Dwarven Heavy Armor
3. the sword, for those suspecting, is in fact Vigilance. I only recently heard about the Starfang-model-on-Vigilance glitch recently, and tbh I really don't care, I like the general model and the glitch is far from being a game-breaker for me.

I'm partial to the Dwarven Massive Armor. I have convinced myself that the set Gorim sells in Denerim is the same armor that you wear in the origin.

Since it was worn by your grandfather or great-grandfather, you can role-play that Gorim managed to get back the set and upgraded it with the help of his new wife's father who is a smith. Plus whenever you moved around in the original set, it made the same noises as medium armor which annoy me.

I wouldn't put it past him to save that particular set for his DN comrade. After all, he sells HIS OWN sword and shield as well, and to the other Origins' wardens, too.

Dwarven Massive armor is ok, imo (I mean no doubt stat-wise its excellent massive armor), but the only type I really ever use is Legion of the Dead armor, mostly for the blackness of it in contrast to the bronze-ish color mostly seen with dwarves using Dwarven Massive.

EDIT: I just realized I contradicted my previous post (the end of it) when I brought up Dwarven Massive on this post. Basically I like it but I wait for the right material levels because for some reason I don't really like the bronze-ish color. No idea why, just visually I don't like it...

Armor of the Sentinel is always going to be my favorite. Especially used along side Vigilance.

Too bad that only massive armor gets armor with a black coating. Rogue/light armor is especially gimped with the blue/purple colors.

I wish the Legion of The Dead Armor had a true black coating instead of the dark green coating. Hopefully BW will eventually get dye kits in their future games so every player can choose their own color scheme.

I'm partially afraid and anticipating at the same time that Dragon Age 2 will have a similar armor system to Mass Effect 2, especially with a customized choices of chestplates, chainmail underlays, and picking pauldrons for left and right shoulders...

Sadly I think this would mean no more Dwarven armor, which would make me very sad... :(

I have no idea how that system works since I never played Mass Effect 2 for certain reasons(...saves from ME1 gone without a trace...). If I am hearing this correctly, you start with a standard piece of armor and add upgrades? Wow, that sounds Awesome! <_<

The Mass Effect 2 armor basically has you in the same armor the whole game but you can customize the color. There are patterns to choose from, a couple different parts of the armor you choose the color for, and quite a few choices. I really liked how that was done. In Mass Effect, all the best armor looked hideous so it was nice to be able to have some really nice-looking customizable armor in the sequel. You could buy upgrades for it, but it didn't really change how it looked.

You're basically right with that assumption. Mass Effect 2's armor system has the following piece slots: shoulder pads, gauntlets (which cover the arms up to the shoulders), greaves (wierd saying that in a non-medieval-style context), Torso Armor, and headgear (though unless you have the extra DLC armor bits, you're stuck with one helmet with the options breather mask on/off).

It works in that universe but I don't know if I could handle it in the Dragon Age universe...

Lemme guess, the standard N7 whatchamacallit armor like in the beginning of the ME1 campaign? If so, I would rather take another set (perhaps something like the Scorpion? set) though I agree some armor sets were not appealing to me like the Massive red and black set. However, I have pretty discriminating tastes when it comes to armor, which ruled out most armor in the KOTOR series and so on.

Pretty much this except that by the time you're done changing the colors of everything around it can look much, much better. Seriously, there are like twenty different color choices.

What is kinda wierd about my armor tastes (and I'm trying to bring the topic back to its place here) is that I typically cross cultures when I armor up my characters, especially in fantasy-style RPGs, and it isn't different with Dragon Age Origins. I oftentimes armor up my human/elf characters and companions in some type of Dwarven Armor, and I typically put human/custom variants on my PC Dwarves.

Then again, this is probably due to the fact that I am a fan of breaking stereotypes. My elves are warriors, humans have no distinction for me, and my dwarves are rogues. I think seeing the culture and attitudes of dwarves in dust town inspired me to make badass, witty, sarcastic dwarven rogues.

Including Pink and White? Because I would *love* to have that color scheme again

There is white and actually a couple different shades of pink as well as black and a few different shades of yellow, green, red, blue, purple, and orange. Seriously, if you're going to be stuck in one piece of armor the whole game, what they did to make it customizable almost makes it worth it.

Some of the extra pieces do end up making the armor look a fair bit different. There's one "set" that ends up making Shepard look like a freaking Tank.

I was being sarcastic about loving that color set but I am guess I am still stuck in the old way of looting armor from enemies/buying from store. It would be like your Origins PC being stuck in the same gear from the origin all the way to the fight with the AD.

Well, if we could keep the freaking Aeducan armor we started out in. Yeah, that would be weird.

DN would at least make some sense since it was passed on to you from a previous ancestor. Stats would blow, but in RP terms it is not that farfetched in my opinion. The CE would have the toughest luck since they start in their worn out clothing.
