btw if you look at statistics about as many nations and states do not recognize homosexual couples or evendeem them illegal as incest ones, I know this topic is not to the tastes of many but we already had lots of threads discusing homosexuality here freely so I see no reason why not to do so

Alright, that sentence is a little indecipherable to me, but I'll say this: incest is illegal everywhere. That's the definition. It's what the country or state defines as being incest that matters--all of them agree that between siblings it is illegal.

Incest on the other hand is not, and it being legal in three states in USA doesn't make it ok.

Here I remind the readers that I supported the including of homosexual romances already earlier in previous threads, not that I get bashed at again, I am just expressing my concern about hypocricity

I myself am not interested in neither homosexuality nor incest, and I normally go far away from such discussions, but both topics come up again and again in the Bioware forums and reading a bit into them made me realize how different they are treated

You're playing devil's advocate, fine. Technically incest hurts noone, provided no reproduction occurs. It's not the same as homosexuality though, far from it. Incest will lead to inbreeding some of the time, and inbreeding has a clear negative effect upon the gene pool. It makes sense to outlaw it.

Well I don't really want to start any discussion over it, ironicly it is always someone else who starts talking about stuff then I get bashed because of it. I just want to tell that historically incest was there since ancient times just like homosexuality, in ancient egypt and rome, even in the middle ages among nobility. As far I know there was no mention of health issues due to this from children and in case of egypt this was done for over a couple milennia, of course this could be said to be due to lack of scientific education and thus it was unnoticed, but the same can't be said about the medieval times I think. Anyway, I was just wondering about the difference in reactions nothing more, I won't mention it again.

It's hardly hypocritical to support homosexuality and condemn incest. They are not the same thing. This is the argument constantly made by religious fundies -> homosexuality = incest = bestiality. There is nothing similar about these practices whatsoever, and comparing them so is horribly offensive.

Besides, I'm sure you'll find plenty of fanfic Hawke + Bethany couplings out there in the extreme sites, I agree it's time to be done discussing it here.
