Well I don't really want to start any discussion over it, ironicly it is always someone else who starts talking about stuff then I get bashed because of it. I just want to tell that historically incest was there since ancient times just like homosexuality, in ancient egypt and rome, even in the middle ages among nobility. As far I know there was no mention of health issues due to this from children and in case of egypt this was done for over a couple milennia, of course this could be said to be due to lack of scientific education and thus it was unnoticed, but the same can't be said about the medieval times I think. Anyway, I was just wondering about the difference in reactions nothing more, I won't mention it again.

You know that they made some new ferility treatments where if you have a 3rd set you can avoid the lack of diversity...so incest may not be so bad if you can avoid the messed up children aspect.Then again I have always been a very open minded person to some things.

Regardless its not happening in DA2 Bethany Hawke's sister will probably be kidnapped inorder for hawke to get the motivation to go do something.Thats the kind of writing I imagine will take place.

On that note, I wonder if Bethany is already in a romance, perhaps someone who is not an NPC but a random character you get to meet in the game? Maybe someone you get to jump punch on your rise to power?

I love how most of the reviewers didn't realize that the female mage companion is his sister. <_<  She seems very sweet and I love the over protective sibling notion.

well, according to devs the demo was short and had only a single conversation in it, so for them she was nothing more than a female human mage henchman

Okay so I'll jump on this conversation bandwagon.
All of the people that I've known in incestuous relationships have involved some form of abuse, usually sexual.  So yes, in my opinion it is a bad thing.  A very bad thing and usually involves reporting the relationship to the authorities.

Edit:  Sorry, I had to get my 2 cents in.  I will not mention incest in this thread again.

Lack of health issues? What are you talking about? The practice of inbreeding has caused weakness to disease, deformities and insanity in many royal lines throughout history.

She says she never messed around with any of the cloister sisters.  She never says that she didn't sneak out back to meet a fledgling mage - that would have scandalized the Chantry anyway, so she would have had to keep it a secret.

It happened most likely in Orlais but Bioware didn't bother with having new voice actors for orlesians and new areas of Orlais so they recycled existing places and this is why they moved it to Denerim.

Don't know why most people got nothing to say about homosexuality and are complaining about incest. During the Middle Age it wasn't uncommon to see bro and sis matings, the other guy talking about royal issues is right about it. That aside, there MUST be a second female member to romance since so far we only have Isabella (for a male champion), that "unknown" option is going to be quite promising.... or so I hope (I believe that a romance with Bethany would be a good option though)

I really, really hope that I can fix up whoever is the "Alistair" with one of the other female party members so I don't have him mooning over my PC for the entire game. He seems like a nice kid but he's just too much of a kid for me. Similarly if there's a "Zevran", I'd like to offload him onto Wynne's magical bosom. It'd be nice to have a "why don't you flirt with X over there, she thinks you're cute" option to go along with the "Don't flirt with me, dammit!" and the "tee hee, you're so sweet!" options. Me, I plan on sticking with the Sten/Bann Teagan character even if they don't return my affections. We can at least watch the romances of the other characters and smile in an amused way.

^^^This.  Not that I didn't like my PC with Alistair, but it just wasn't going to happen with my anti-OGB stance and desire to play Awakening sans "handwaved import."  I couldn't marry him to Anora in good conscience, either, so he's on his "Pubs of Thedas Tour" in my save.  It would be awesome to "make things up" by getting him together with Bethany.

Of course, if Flemeth possesses her...oooh...I feel mean just for thinking about it.
