against an army of orcs. They might have been imps or goblins or
demons, actually. We're not nerdy enough to know the difference.

Yeah because being a games reviewer is not nerdy at all. I bet you tell yoursself that everynight before you go to sleep. Seriously, way to pi$$ off your audience...

I do not think that means talking.Maybe it means a Short cenimatic of someone doing something like punching the guy your interrogating.Makes me think of ME2 with tahnes loyalty quest playing good cop bad cop.=]More mass effect coming on board lol.AbounI wrote...
does anyone notice this :"in conversation you'll have the opportunity to let your companions handle a situation".
It seems DA:O doesn't offer this possibility, of course followers can give their own opinion, but they can't handle a full conversation.
That's a big diference, isn't it?
what does it really mean?Do we have the real opportunity to let our followers handle all the dialogues when it feets them? Can we except another kind of consequences in their choices than if it was Hawke who handle the same conversation? Is it a way to learn more about their personnality?
well, i want to learn more about this possibility.
please do not focus on the "orc", as we all know it is not,

Thanks for the clarification, but I'm expecting another five pages of "there will only be three options and conversations have been dumbed down and simplified!" This forum is so depressing sometimes -- it's like half the people in this thread just decided to ignore the comments from developers that there will be more than three options because they got in the way of being melodramatic.
Wtf, just three dialogue options?????!?!?!?!?!?11111!!!!11111!!
Sorry...

it is also weird to not know enough of rpg-s to see the difference between the listed monsters, it looks not just as if the writer never played DA1, but not even other RPG-s to know the differences

I'm not really sure where the "there are only three options for dialog" impression they got came from. Perhaps it was when I showed one half of the dialog wheel with three options...which, you know, leaves another half open for...you know...other....options. *Shrug*
Also probably worth noting that we're not locked into specific icons per place in the wheel. Oh no. We have -much- more flexibility than that. We're like gymnasts.
Thank you very much clarifying this. The way the reviewer painted it made the conversation wheel seem very limited.

And 'lo comes the bit**ing! Sweet goddamned Jesus, I can't read anything here without reading a thread full of people going, "DRAGON EFFECT BOO" "THIS GAME WILL SUCK, BUT I'M GOING TO SIT AROUND HERE ALL DAY COMPLAINING ANYWAY!"
You guys are the biggest chunk of negative freaking nancies I've ever seen out of a Blizzard forum. It's a game! Buy it or don't! Go tabletop if you're too much of an RPG purist.
If this community were representative of my actual social circle, I'd have jumped off a bridge years ago.
Heaven forbid people like a game and worry its sequel will change too much and be worse. Cause that has NEVER happened before right? Oh wait...
Heaven forbid people understand the universe does not revolve around their personal tastes and that dumping on every. single. bit. of news that comes out by filling threads up with nothing but repetitive complaining is in poor taste and will not get you what you want.

I agree, they should invite Gamestar and GamersHell instead

Anyway, console combat news is kinda interesting, but doesn't exactly concern me.
I take it that PC combat is about the same speed with mouse clicks and a classic interface instead of the pseudo-action button presses. Which isn't news, so I'm left to wait for any substantial information.

Did you even take the time to read the posts on this thread? Most people were dissing the article, not the game itself.
Funny enough I find there are more posts insulting/harassing people who are doing the "complaining" rather than actual complain posts. If you want to contribute to a positive environment, perhaps try leading by example instead of mirroring their behavior.

I doubt that guy actually played origins and i bet he played ME and ME2 just for pure shooting and skipped all the cinematics.

Other than the graphics I have defended this game a lot so far, but this preview REALLY makes it sound like Dragon Effect. Unless the PC combat is truly a lot different I feel like this game is going to be a massive disappointment to me, a person who loved it because it was finally another Baldur's Gate style RPG.
I'm not sure what makes you think Mass Effect. This is the same combat system from the current console unless the IGN explaination doesn't get at the heart of it. This is obviously a very console centric UI - and it is a good UI for this type of comabt with the interface. I would assume given the repeated statements that PC and consoles won't have the same control scheme that the PC will be different in being basically the same.
The one addition is good, where you will have quick menu for your allies that doesn't require you to 100% swtich control to them for a small set of powers.
