Now I'm anxious about playing the demo on Saturday.

The dialogue wheel is now coded, just incase you had trouble before with the obvious impact the line would deliver. :o

God I hope Dragon Age 2 does so bad. I want a sequel, but I'd rather Bioware get a huge slap across the face.

So... you can only be Good, Nasty or Badass.

Only for the particular scene being reviewed. David Gaider said in another thread that there are six options max available...but they would be used just as much as all six responses were used in DA.

Really really really hope they're wrong about the dialogue wheel, other wise this just confirms that this is just a Mass Effect reskin fantasy style.

Relax, it's just IGN being idiots again. I'm pretty sure the responses were good, snarky, or violent. And there's gonna be more than just those 3.

For everyone worried about the dialogue wheel, you do realize that, at times, you had only three options in Dragon Age? You didn't always have six? This could easily be the case. And besides that, the devs have already confirmed there are many options.

It sounds like he went into playing this game either completely unaware of the franchise, or biased and angry that they changed it. His entire preview has a taste of bitterness behind it either from being angry at Bioware for changing Dragon Age, or just being completely disinterested in the franchise and pissed he had to preview it.

This preview hasn't told me anything I don't already know from gameinformer or the devs on these forums anyway...I guess you can't spell ignorant without IGN.

what we saw today looked just fine

- good to hear, graphics was the only thing worrying me about DA2.

The character models have a subtle comic book look to them

- sounds cool

If the action is getting a little too hectic you can still stop it and issue commands to your party

- Bio already said this, at least now people who were afraid of false advertising can sleep at night.

Alongside our hero Hawk we had a female mage fighting with us in this battle

- Hope she looks like Megan Fox <3, even if she doesn’t we won’t hear as many complaints about sexist devs in the forums.

Each choice is represented by an icon that indicates whether or it's a "good," "nasty," or "badass" choice. Good choices are represented by an olive branch, nasty by a Greek comedy mask, and badass by a red fist. This is an easy way to gauge what response your dialogue choices will produce.

- 100% fine by me, I like the idea of using masks, olive branches & red fist icons, they suit DA atmosphere - expect tons of nerdrage that this is indeed Dragon Effect 2 (couldn’t care less - and I'm certain you can turn that effect off anyhow).

The title screen already has a "Downloadable Content" option

- good thing, having an in game NPC to advertise DLC felt like they were ripping my immersion to sell their products, I'm happy to hear they fixed this.
Overall, cool stuff !

Given that the person writing the preview doesn't know the difference between darkspawn and orcs, I wouldnt' put too much stock in what they say.

Wow you're soooooo coooooool IGN.

I just hope this isn't just another paid-off reviewer from IGN... meaning the kick in the teeth is actually coming from BioWare in some attempt to redefine their image for the "cool kids". Image IPB

Think they said 6 max. Before everyone starts saying this is a dump down blah blah, I'd like to point out that in the highly praised (and a little overrated imo) BG II, to the best of my memory usually there were ~3 choices and the number of choices was sometimes ~6 in my neutral character, when I could span the full spectrum of choices from evil to good.

If none of them are not 'nerdy' enough to tell the difference, they should all be fired. How did they land their jobs in the first place? I can't take the rest of the article seriously with this kind of incompetence.

Eh? I interpretted the "badass", "Nasty", "Good" as three examples that appeared in one dialogue in one demo

Nothing to freak out over....

....Orcs? Seriously?

Sounds like nothing changed except we got a dialogue wheel.

Or would have been nicer if they would have gotten a decent writer to do the article.

Other than that, decent about of info, but the way they wrote it makes it look more concerning than it actually is.

ok they probably haven't played origins, but darkspawn don't look that different to orcs.

As a person who played and read much of DA:O I felt like they were reviewing things that were in DA:O.*I play console*
