Ok, so we know that our friends in Par Vollen have cannons. This is really a technical question, what type are we talking? Medieval Turkish Bombards? Brass Napoleons? Do they have muskets, or hand cannons? Also, is their propellant what we know as gunpowder or is it actually mystical in nature?
I put this in the DA2 forum mainly due to Kirkwall's location and previous history with the Qunari.

They have cannons, as relatively primitive as they might be, as well as gunpowder (something the dwarves are trying to replicate, as mentioned in Awakening). That has not extended to hand-held firearms, however.
