I gave up on DA:O but DA2 looks amazing.

I really hated DA:O because the combat was too complicated and boring and a lot of the game was bogged down by too much character interaction and boring dialogue sequences, I diddnt like it because unlike Mass Effect you actually had to read what your character was going to say because if you diddnt you might choose something you diddnt want where in Mass Effect it was simple and you just had to choose the top option for good and the bottom for evil, DA:O never could hold my interest as I had to slog through boring conversations to get to the action and when I finally got to the action the combat was too hard and complicated, I really tried to get into Origins because I loved the work Bioware did on Mass Effect but I just couldnt handle it.
A friend of mine loves the Dragon Age universe and has always tried to get me into the games and when he said DA2 would be a lot like Mass Effect I must admit I was skeptical at first but when I saw the IGN preview I must that I am now really looking forward to DA2. I love the new simplified hack and slash combat system and now that the Dialogue system is simplified like Mass Effect I dont pay much attention to boring conversations and jump straight into the action.
I must congratulate you Bioware on doing such a great job and listenening to the fans of Mass Effect and making the game much better for everyone.

um, he pretty much criticized the tactical combat and having dialogue, in an RPG, so it IS pretty shocking, this is like having the opposite written by an RPG fanboy criticizing Doom3 for the lack of those

If someone doesn't like DA:O, that's fine, but I'm detecting a sarcastic tone here.

I am sorry but why are you hating on me? The formula in DA:O had to change, it was like playing an old dinosaur like Baldur's Gate (never got the appeal of those games especially since the far superior Diablo games were released around the same time), it was too boring and stale and that type of gameplay should be left in the past where it belongs. I really dont know why you fear change so much, I mean all the changes being made are for the best and will make for a far superior game.

Hate on Dragon Age Origins and applaud change but DON'T HAVE GANDALF IN YOU NAME WHEN YOU ARE HATING ON THE FOUNDATIONS OF FANTASY RPGing!!! Tolkien's work gave us the fantasy genre. Dungeons and Dragons gave us the foundations of rpg gaming, and Baldur's Gate is DnD. Tolkien is modern fantasy's founding father just as DnD is RPG's founding father. You slander the name of Gandalf!Gandalf-the-Fabulous wrote...

Wokaay. *roll eyes*
For me DA:O had too much combat and not enough character interaction and interesting dialogues.

You guys obviously have not seen Gandalf's posting history.
I havent seen his posting history but I have heard these same principles be spewed forth online and off line by twitch FPS fans that would like nothing more then for all RPGs to go away and everything become a twitch fest game like the direction Mass Effect 2 is going!
So I dont know if OP a troll or not but I expect we will see more and more of these types of posts as Bioware moves towards those players in its franchises.
Just saying.
