Anyone else wish for NO romances for DA2?

Really? Really? If anything, I think that this reflects real life.
2.) I wish there was some line between dating them and pissing them off/being a jerk and snubbing them.
Again, I think this reflects real life. If they want to get into a relationship with you and you say "Uh, let's just be friends, OK?" you should expect them to be snubbed.
I thought the writing in the first ME was great in regards to the romances (I haven't played ME 2 yet so I can't comment on that). The writing in DA in regards to the romances was good, too, but unfortunately the cutscenes blew (I think the ME cutscenes were great). So if they pull off romances like they did in ME I'll love it. If it's more like the stuff from DA:O, I'll be OK with it, but I won't be bouncing off the walls excited, either.

1.) You can only get to truly know your companions if you're in a romance. This sucks.

1) So...whatever happened to that thing called being best friends? I was best friends with Morrigan in DA:O, and I knew her really well. Her insecurities, her strengths, her attitudes toward love and friendship and life. I don't feel like not being able to bang her cheapened the relationship at all.
2) Yeah, you can expect their feelings to be a little hurt. But what's unrealistic is for them to just clam up and refuse to talk to you for the rest of the game *AHEM* like in ME1 and ME2. Turning people down for romantic relationships is awkward, but it doesn't have to be a friendship breaker.
As for the ME romances, I'll have to politely disagree. I really didn't like the fact that the NPCs were attracted to Shep no matter what, unless she was a complete ass to them. And I really didn't like that if you weren't romancing someone, it was hard to even become friends with them. Their conversations that weren't about romance just dried up.

Quite a few have said that if there were no romances they would be ok with it as long as the main story was deeper for it.
While I do not agree, I see what they are saying.

1) I agree...romancing someone presents a different side to someone, but not necessarily a secret side.
2) I despised how I couldn't have an argument that didn't result in immediate dumping. Hey, Alistair, yeah I'm pissed that you spent the whole time we've known each other lying to me about being the heir to frackin' Ferelden. You could even have slept with him at that point! But, oh no, you can't legitimately get mad at him for that and still stay in the relationship. Even times when you're not necessarily in the right, like with Connor...I just think I'd like to see a different standard in BW romances than "You must agree with me, or it's not love".
I'd be okay with them always being attracted to you (although it'd be weird if this was the case for four romances in DAO) in ME. Why must we always be the ones to make the move? I'd just like to be able to control whether you're in "romance postive" mode or not. Being attracted and making a move doesn't have to be the same as being in a relationship. The only thing that really bugged me was that you couldn't refuse them without being a ****. Well, Liara you could, but then the game just sort of assumed a relationship.
And I totally agree with the "no sex, no friends" thing. The friendships just felt so dry to me. The conversations just sort of happen or they don't.
