well true, the question still remains of Mass Effect style save game continuation if that makes sense.
My gut feeling is and I could be wrong. Is that the Origins part is kinda similar to LOTR where Sauron's mortal form gets killed.
Basically that its all a set up for the big event.

That's up to EA and sales numbers.

Also i'd be royally pissed if we had to continue our characters. Few games makes this continuity without it being lame. Also i'd rather have some new places to explore, new people to meet.
BG>BG2>BG2:TOB
NWN:SOU>NWN:HOTU
NWN2>NWN2: MOTB
Morrowind>Bloodmoon>Tribunal
Don't know about you, but I quite enjoyed those games and all of them had new places and new people.
Future games series doing this:
ME>ME2>ME3
TW>TW2

BG and BG2 are a bad example. I dont know how often I came acros npcs in BG2 that should have been dead but still lived or others that threated me as old friend even I never talked to them in the first game. And the mainstory of BG was linear to the extrem, there were only few times that you had a choice and the ending was not affected by them at all, compare this to DA:O where you can end up everything from king to corpse and change the world with your decisions in the game.

I would love to see an all out massive blight in the next game. We still have 2 assumed to be sleeping dragons, a half breed taint baby. I mean an all out blight would be nice, imagine a blight that not only attacked Ferelden, but Antiva, Orlais, Tevintir. I'd like to see more of the Grey Wardens from the other lands, from what I gathered from the game, Ferelden had the smallest number of Grey Wardens compared to some of the other states.

I doubt we'll see a DA2 anytime soon just because KOTOR 3 is a MMO, which sucks up resources. Whatever is left over will go to ME3. A commitment to DA2 would just invite a dilution of staff talent and product quality.
But I've been wrong before.

I think the MMO is handled by the Texas studio.
The Canadia studio can probably develop two games at once. I think it is a choice between making DA2 or launching some other brand new game.
