I have a quick question. If I'm on the Unseeing Eye and do the whole quest, but I don't go after that to pick up my reward from the temple and instead I travel to Umar Hills, I would be able to take the ranger stronghold, right? I don't play with the tweakpack(no multiple strongholds allowed) installed and I just wanted to make sure.

You can probably decline the cleric stronghold, but yes, not reporting your success should also allow you to get another stronghold instead.

IIRC this is bugged for a R/C anyway, if you don't have the fixpack you don't get offered the temple.

I have the fixpack and they offered me the stronghold, but Irrbloss is correct, I could simply(and politely mind you) decline the offer, which I gladly did. A child of Bhaal should not be concerned with institutionalized religion, that's for peasants and simpletons.

Hmm, maybe I should have waited a little bit more before refusing the stronghold. I did the other clerical quests(Sarles and Ring of Dawn) only after I turned down the priest's offer and my reward consisted of some money and experience. Wasn't I supposed to get a couple of items as well?

You did the sculptor quest for the Lathanderites? You don't get any items for doing the Dawn Ring quest, but you can get items from the sculptor quest. The specifics depend on which temple you perform the quest for.

Yes, the quest was for Lathander's temple, but taking now a second more careful look at my stash of items it seems that I must have been given an amulet, Periapt of Life Protection. I don't recall picking up this amulet from somewhere else, so this is probably my reward...strange I was given the impression that I should have received a helm or maybe a ring, can't remember exactly. Perhaps the items vary by chance according to the player's reputation?

If you are not part of the temple you get the Periapt of Life Protection. If you are a member you get to choose from a Ring of Holiness, a Staff Spear +2 and a Armor of Faith (+3 Splint Mail giving a +1 bonus to saves). You get a Helm of Glory (+1 AC, +1 CHA) if you do the quest for the Helmites but are not part of their gang.
