Thought I'd ask in case anyone knows the answer, before wasting time trying it myself.
Is it possible to do samara's loyalty mission before the collector ship?

I'm thinking one method would be to avoid recruiting the requisite 8 squadmates until after her mission is done.

Another possible method could be to leave grunt in the tank so that samara's mission is activated a little earlier.

It would be totally sweet to bring either reave or dominate on that mission.

Yes, it's possible. Recruit Samara right after Horizon, do some N7 missions until Kelly says she wants to talk with you, and then you'll be able to do her loyalty before the Collector ship.
