How do you search the forums?

Am I blind, or hasn't that bit been added yet?

You can also type in a word to search... but there is no smarter way to search I'm afraid (which I know at least.

I found it just before you replied, but it doesn't seem to work.
I was looking for info on the Saerileth Romance as I was concerned that it might be broken after her sad demise.
I typed in Saerileth and nothing came up.
Now I know that I have made posts with her name in.
I am therefore wondering if it works properly.

Huh. Looks like it must be buggy. I used it yesterday but not for the BG forums. That worked then and still does now. But I can't get it to bring up anything in the BG forums.wise grimwald wrote...

Yeah, that's also a good idea. Better than the forum search thingy anyway.Irrbloss wrote...
Use e.g. saerileth site:social.bioware.com in a search engine of your choice (e.g. google) if you want to find something on this board.

It worked!
I actually found that the info I wanted was actually on the old forums.
Death doesn't seem to have broken the romance. She is still romantic and I was able to put the necklace from Sigil on her.
She was temporarily very weak. All her attributes plummetted!
However, she recovered them shortly afterwards.
No doubt the significance of that could emerge later.

You probably used Harper's Call on her.

I didn't realise that "Raise dead" and "Harper's Call" were different.

The forum search feature has always been wonky (and annoying) if it worked at all. Go with what the others suggested and use a search engine instead.
I never had any problem with the old forums, (forae for the pedantic and latin scholars).
However, this suggestion worked very well.
Might I suggest that the info given about searching be included with other useful info in a sticky at some time.
I don't think it is worth a sticky by itself, but a sticky on using the forums, how to post links to photos etc. thunbnails, searching etc. etc. would be helpful.
We are very much learning by trial and error at the moment, so once we have discovered the best way of doing things, such a sticky would be helpful for newcomers .

Oh, and when I mentioned the search feature for the forum I meant this one, of course, since I'm posting here and that's what we were discussing.

In general, the "forum" part of the social site (the only one i really care about) is quite sub par compared to forums software from say, 2004. <shrug>. Same issues when the D&D forums moved to their "social site". It is what it is i guess.

But seriously, the old forums had almost as many, if not more options in some examples. I don't know what happened to make em move here, but I've got a LITTLE thing going on around my head since I entered this site... you know. 2 capital letters. You can hear them almost everywhere. Like in... "yeah" "hear" "wheah?" "ear" "earn"... you know... well, these two letters might be the main plotters. I fear at least (fear, least, hehehe)
Well, the report button gives the reports to this above not-so clearly mentioned company. You know?
Eh, who are we kidding, BSN is nothing. It should be called EASN...

But, it's time to shut this thread down since the search stuff was answered and it's best discussed in the site help forum. Please do, btw, discuss it there, because the more people that want a feature the more likely it'll come along (nothing is 100% but it can't hurt).
