I'm very curious about your opinions. Since the 1.03 patch not only seems to fix some bugs, but also changes some game mechanics, do you think the 1.03 patch is a good thing, over all?
Do you think the 1.03 Mac patch is an improvement?

I am just happy to see the update and know it's not abandonware. I haven't had a crash yet on my Mac Pro since the update. As far as game play, I am not a hardcore player in the sense that I pay attention to that sort of thing. I play the game through easy, then change characters and for the next play through, go up in difficulty. That's the extent of it for me. Pretty much collect loot and do quests as I see fit. Sell most of my loot for gold just to buy something special when I see it. I haven't even done any special crafting!!!

I do. Not only is it more stable, but easy-mode bugs have been fixed, such as the perma-force field thing.

From my window it is not an improvement, though I appreciate Bioware still supports the Mac version of DA:O.
I never had any bug with the 1.00 version. Since I've upgraded to 1.03, I've encountered two 1.03-well-known bugs:
1- items disappearing from my inventory (almost naked character). I had to reload an old save because the bug doesn't show up as long as you don't quit the game: your save file is already corrupted but you don't know it. Sweet. Thus you keep playing and saving and/or erasing previous save
2- Steal is broken: after a while, every time Leliana tried to steal from someone, the "Stealing Success" message displayed but I got nothing: neither money nor items. I had to download and manually install a unofficial fix from the community to have the stealing working back
I'm glad of the 1.03 Mac Patch because it opens the door to Awakening and others DLC but it introduced more annoying bugs than it solved.

The inventory problem existed before 1.03. I personally haven't experienced that, or any other bug, since the patch. The crashing bug was particularly annoying, but that is also gone now, at least for me.
One of the weirdest bugs I encountered pre-1.03 was one that denied Zevron his Ancient Elven armour after putting on the disguise to gain entry to estate in Denerem. After the party was discovered, I ended up with a naked Zevron that could no longer wear his armour because his his stats were too low. I had to revert to a previous save and redo the entire scenario. I haven't seen that bug since the patch, thankfully.

It's been a major downgrade for me. I'm getting no end of unhandled page exceptions - multiple times per day, even after rebooting. I never had this severity of crashing with 1.02.
In addition, I was working my way through Cadash Thaig (first area post-patch) and suddenly found myself teleported to the finale, with Shale reading her memory speech while the boss approached down the bridge. ???
I'm seriously considering wiping out my install and falling back.

Well, too late now since I've already installed the patch, but no crashes since then... (*crosses fingers, knocks on wood*)
