Figure I would start a topic on it

So, Light Side or Dark Side, including your favorite moments that either purifies or corrupts your character

I do love killing off the poachers in Kashyyk as a Dark Jedi

It's been a long time since I last played KOTOR, but I always liked when you turn on the majority of your party late end game on the last planet (can't remember it's name) and Carth runs for the unexplored jungles to probably meet his doom.

I prefer playing Light Side, but the moment that sticks with me most for some reason is convincing the 2 families on Dantooine to kill each other. Most memorable dialogue choice from that game: "Kill them!!! KILL THEM ALL!!!"

I usually play Dark Side. I think convincing Uthar to acknowledge you is one of the best Dark Side moments. I also like some of the dialogue options at the end with Malak, 'the apprentice has learned his final lesson' being the only one I remember right now.

Not to forget 'insert lightsaber into locker' on Manaan. Actually, anything at all Dark Side I can do on Manaan I usually will, just because it's about the only joy I have on Manaan.

I like light side at the end of Korriban killing both the dark jedi masters, and killing the entire academy in rightous fury!

I always like playing as evil in games like this. Usually playing good/light is pretty boring.

Plus in this game you had Force lightning and Drain Life. It was awesome in both games if I remember right. I recently started playing a Light side character because I don't think I ever completed the whole games as light side. I did see the ending through loading a save towards the end of the game though. I also like a lot of the mods and fixes for Kotor on PC. I had the game on Xbox a long time ago when I first played. I was totally unaware of Kotor on PC until recently and luckily got it to play on my computer.

Dark Helmet in Spaceballs put it best:  "So Lone Star, now you will see that evil will always triumph because good is dumb".

I played the light side and it's not that boring. I usually find it hard to be an ass to characters you really get to know.

Darkside and force choking random background characters like the guy in the cantina on tatooine.

Gah, I miss kotor I had it preordered and did like 20+ play throughs. Oh and zaalbar as a jedi guardian was death incarnate force jump, master speed, and flurry. Good times ...good times.

By FAR and away the best thing about playing the dark side on either game for me is turing your crew evil.

The Handmaiden was my personal favorite how she turns from miss goodie goodie to a goth looking hottie ready to kill ppl for you....luv it!

Some poeple were a pain to turn to the dark side....which made it all the sweeter in the end.

I hope the new SWTOR will allow you to do this....maybe turn your companions to the dark side....that would be fun...I just love to corrupt npcs lol.Posted Image

I'm on my second playthrough on light side and favorite moment is easily the redeeming of Bastila, especially if she is a LI.

Yeah I agree, but it was unfortunate that her morality didn't really seem to change all that much after converting her. I remember always losing influence with her in my party when taking a DS action even after making her a dark Jedi. Not sure if that resulted from all the cut content or not though.

I've played as a FULL Dark-sided male for a long time, and 1 (i have a lot) moment i like best is when you deceive Lashowe, kill her and take the Jedi Holocron.

I had a slight perference for dark side back when I played KotOR. My favorite moment was when the party was flying away from Rakata to assault the Star Forge and Jedi Master Vandar Tokare (aka the Yoda clone) contacts you beforehand. That moment when Bastila is bringing him up to speed and then throws my female Revan that look stayed with me. Revan's evil smirk afterward was a nice touch too.

My favorite light side moment was talking to Yuthura Ban on Dantooine after convincing her to rejoin the Jedi order. It's one of my top three warm hearted quest resolutions ever. It's also why I like to visit Korriban first or second when playing light side.

For some reason, I never beat KOTOR, but I did beat KOTOR 2...weird.

Anyway, now i'm going to do both a light and dark side playthrough and the best moment on my first light side run definitely involves Korriban.

I went to Korriban third, after Taris and Tatooine, and imagined my character as a new jedi who could go evil at any moment.

So, during the final trial, I decided to kill both Sith Masters. I was an awesome battle. Afterward, I imagined my character brimming with hate and emotion from the killing, using that to fuel the massacre of the entire Sith Academy.

So, after that, with Revan still brewing with emotion, Bastila had a talk with him about her fearing that I may turn to the darkside. It seemed to fit perfectly with what I was imagining.

After the talk, Revan went into the storage chamber on the Ebon Hawk. He stared at the mysterious box and opened it. I imagined Revan cooling off during his talk with the Rakata and seeing how his hate from the massacre was turning him. Upon his exit from the box, Revan was 100 percent light side.

It was a very cool arc that played out well.

I'm not all big on the whole one side or the other. I like going the path Jolee takes, where you mostly remain neutral but still tend to lean towards the good side. Willing to redeem that Sith Ghost on Korriban, but not above killing Bendak Starkiller for the bounty hunter money on Taris. (I mean come on he kind of deserved it.)

I tend to play solid light side then solid dark side just to see exactly what the difference was between the two--make sure I don't miss anything. But, the way to do it is to play the way you want to, which sounds obvious, but if you feel like being nice to some widow then do it.

If you don't want to pay full price for Hk when you know the guy's ripping you off, it's time to break out the lightsaber. Although I tend to feel stupid when playing dark side sometimes because a lot of the choices are simple brutality for no reason. But annihilating the student's at Korriban is really satisfying.

The dark side powers are just so much cooler. I mean, Drain Life anyone? OK, Cure/Heal is very useful, but not all that cool.

I hate the way that being evil is synonymous with being an idiot, though. I don't fell I have to be an insulting jerk to be evil, why can't I be evil in a cool, popular and dashing way?

Precisely. I really enjoy the DS powers and find them to be way more useful than LS ones, and I always felt that Revan's not a thug darksider, but a very subtle/smart/sauve evil type. It's just far harder to write smart evil (especially for a game) than to go for the "I'm going to yell at widows and beat up hepless Ithorians" route. Not that that isn't fun sometimes...

Sometimes getting them to do evil things is fun yes like in Kotor 2 I always play once through on Nar Shadaa so far to have those thugs jump off the balcony. Also having the Sith hopeful's jump in to the canyon. But in the end I always go the good side, or once before I went dark side and I still feel bad for having Zaalbar kill Mission ^ - ^, I'm funny like that some people have called me evil when it comes to games but I can easily feel guilty even though it's just a computer program.
