I've been hearing that it's longer, but I don't really know. Somewhere (an article of some kind) said it was three times longer but I find that hard to believe. Who knows?
Three times longer!! Yes, please.

I think they misunderstood the length of the game's timeline--10 years--with the length of the game.

I'm not an oracle or something, just using my logic, which may be wrong in this. Let's hope a dev is gonna reply to this, but I don't think that we'll ever get an official answer about it. The same question existed for Awakening before its release and guess what.

Well the expansion pack fell into that category.

Ah, that make sense.
I think a realistic guess would be about the same length as DA:O. But as andar said, who knows.

I hope that it will be at least as long as DAO, though.

DA:O was in development for more than 5 years, DA 2 will be out in less than a year, plus we have a voiced character now, so I can't see how Hawke is going to have so many lines for let's say a 100+ hours game. My guess is that DA 2 will be much shorter than DAO.

DAO took 5+ years but,
- Bio didn't have the funding they have now (EA).
- They were also putting effort into transitioning their engine to "next gen", which they don't need to do now.
- VO for Hawke is not that greater an effort.
Taking these in mind, I'd expect DA2 to be shorter than DAO but not much shorter.

Not to mention the transition to EA must have loosened some screws.

Given that it has the voiced PC, it will no doubt be shorter than Origins. Origins took me about 80 hours to complete my 1st time through. I'm only expecting about 30-40 hours for DA2- something similar to ME2 most likely...
This is about what I'm expecting: that it'll be around ME2's length, which I think was around 25-30 hours for me. But DAO only took me about 46 hours to finish my first playthrough with maybe half to 3/4 the side quests done.
