Just updated to 1.04 (via Steam).  I used to have no major problems on 1.03, aside from the occasional crash.  Now, it seems that the aspect ratio correction is broken.

Playing at 1920x1200 (my monitor's native resolution), characters are tall and "Squished".  Text is squished.  At the main menu screen, when I open the "Options" screen and there is an overlay to dim out the background image with the swords stuck in the ground, the overlay is only 1600x1200 (ie: there are two brighter bars on the side of the screen, instead of having everything dim out).

Just wondering if anyone else is having similar problems?

I tried adjusting my resolution down to 1600x1200 (so I get black bars on the side of the screen when playing), and this seems to correct the aspect ratio problems, but I'd much rather use the full resolution of my monitor.

Using NVIDIA GeForce 9800 GTX with 197.45 drivers.  As far as I can remember, these are the same drivers from the last time I played the game (about 3 months ago).

Ok, this is weird. If I go into the Configuration utility and turn on the "Disable Aspect Ratio Correction" option under the "Video" settings tab, the game works properly.

I don't remember ever having to adjust this option before. It's almost like the value of the check-box has been reversed?

Glad to hear I didn't went mad. I updated a week ago but haven't played until now. I was quite irritated when I noticed the front and everything else deformed.
However like you mentioned the "Disable Aspect Ratio Correction" fixed the new bug.
Funny though that disabling "Disable Aspect Ratio Correction" actually enable it now instead of vice versa.

Do either of you happen to have a dual-monitor setup? I've been wondering what the cause is, and the only things I can think of are either a problem with the NVIDIA drivers (Dragoon001, do you have an NVIDIA card, or something else?), or a problem with my dual-monitor setup.

I'm glad I found a work-around, but as a programmer myself, I'm curious about what caused the problem to begin with.

In case either of you are wondering, I'm playing the Steam version on Windows 7 Ultimate x64, with an NVIDIA card, and two monitors (1920x1200 and 1280x1024).

Well I own the retail version, running on Win7 x64 with a Nvidia 8800 GTS 512 and dual monitor setup too.
22"TFT 1680*1050 (Primary display) & 21"CRT 1600*1200

My guess the new patch use the combined resolution (3280) instead of the primary display resoultion to calculate aspect ratio. At least from the distortion it looks like.
