Wait a second. You hate me, and yet you refer to me as your friend? You're confusing the hell out of me.
I also don't drink, so there's strike two. But I wouldn't be on this board if I wasn't a gamer, so at least we have that in common. One out of three ain't bad, I guess.

Well by confusing the hell out of you I am one step closer in my plan to accomplish... something. And I don't hate you, just possibly your beliefs and what you stand for. When I am emperor and you're up against the wall, don't take it personally okay? Maybe I will even be merciful and just send you to the gulag.

And I must remind you again that you don't even know what my beliefs are, or what I stand for. I'd be happy to clarify if you'd ask, but you haven't asked. You've apparently just made assumptions, which may or may not be correct. (And if you do decide to ask, it should probably be in private quarters. This thread still isn't the right place for this discussion.)

Also, I just realized that I made a horrible mistake: You're not the guy who pointed out that this thread isn't the right place for this discussion, you just have the same icon as that guy. Ooops. I guess you weren't right about that after all. And here I was hoping I could give you something. I guess we still have the gaming thing to agree upon.

He seemed very closed-minded to me, and even questioned my gender because my character was a fighter and female. Apparently Qunari women can't be fighters. That's the realm of the Qunari man.

It would be interesting if a female Qunari went rogue, opposing her culture's conservative values, and became a party member in a future Dragon Age game.

Our knowledge of the Qunari is very limited. We only get to meet one and he was sort of like an emissary for his people so he was bound to be very much a part of the ruling culture. This does not mean there isn't dissent with the Qunari lands themselves and any group that tries to integrate foreigners into their society are going to have views not necesarily at odds but not wholly in support of the ruling ideology.

Maybe there are Qunari women who go against everything they've been taught. We know it takes a Qunari female to produce orges. They have to spend some time in open or dangerous places for darkspawn to have to a chance at capturing them.

Well, obviously a flawed world makes for a more interesting fantasy setting.  That doesn't mean we can't call a flaw a flaw, though.Posted Image

No can do. Ever since the Providence incident, my doctor won't allow me to handle a shovel.

@jln.francisco - oh my, there will always be people to offend. There will never be a shortage.
I do like your take on Sten, though. He was the perfect Qunari soldier, perfect that is until he met up with the warden and was able to experience the world in other ways outside the strict doctrine of the Qun. He seemed very closed-minded to me, and even questioned my gender because my character was a fighter and female. Apparently Qunari women can't be fighters. That's the realm of the Qunari man.

mnaybe because i'm before all think as male i dare to have another opinion about your comment (Anyway, opinion, no heathen or things like that ) ,  Sten see the things different but when you talk to him and even show him your own points he respect you, even get a better aproval... I don't see a mind close, but someone who already was teached with certain way and have enough "culture" for accept and debate other views...  and even if the qunari are "world of mens"  they are softie!!! (Now... maybe that is the Reason the Qun  ask to convert  everyone...  were taged as softie centuries ago and the qunari were offended)

P.d. Some words of Stein which define him (or a little)
"Get used to disappointment. People are not simple. They cannot be
defined for easy reference in the manner of: 'the elves are a lithe,
pointy-eared people who excel at poverty.'"

"No one has a place here. Your farmers wish to be merchants. The
merchants dream of being nobles, and the nobles become warriors. No one
is content to be who they are."

"I like swords, I follow orders; there's nothing else to know about me."

And the most important:

Warden: "Where'd you get those?" (cookies)
Sten:
"There was a child--a fat, slovenly thing--in the
last village we passed. I relieved him of these confections. He did not
need anymore."

Warden:
"You stole cookies from a child?"
Sten:
*dead serious* "For his own good."

anyway time for go to the bed,  but before : My first joke about Jesus was, just that a simple joke , never was my wish to give a serious off-topic there

In my mind it is these parallels to the real world that severely limit the game...Divinity is discounted, the fade is the only extraterrestrial plane of existence, and so on.

To me a fantasy RPG should not have these limitations.

For those case, "The Qun it's a lie" those are called  Tal'Vashoth

and maybe because i found the qunari too
fascinating fail to see a big problem of gender , because the female do the thing they like to do, of course on the Qunari society that could not be all true because the doctrine  about what are they it's too much strong and could "overwrite" the desire of one , however  if that ocur even the same female will don't know.

For me the qunari have a strong factor where the race, color, your body dont care, only  your abilities count , Maybe i could change my idea if found a woman warrior converted to the Qun must quit his life as warrior, then  yep.. Qunari not rules
(Because she already know what is she and on what she is good )
