If they call it Dragon Age 2 they would've called Origins just Dragon Age, simple as that. I'm sure they'll be consistent and come up with a subtitle.

Nah, clearly they are calling the game Dragon Age 2 because BioWare has sold out everything including their subtitles!

should the development cycle's project name prevail:

Even if the intent was trolling, I really don't think this would've been a good way to go about it. The circumstances leading up to that post were so odd that I'm really not sure at the moment how I ended up doing it. Nevertheless, I had a free day with nothing important to do, a random conversation we really got into, and somehow I was reading these forums at the same time and a specific thread popped up that somehow got me in the mood to make a post about how I thought DA2 was a rather bland name. That kind of blew out of proportion because I was bored and wanted to get somewhat creative. Which led to the thread. >_>

Overblown or not, it's a subject worth it's own discussion, I think, and once the initial rush of (perhaps insulted?) peeps telling me I'm stupid for worrying about such inconsequential things passes by we can get down into the nitty gritty of telling Bioware what they have to have as the subtitle to the main title.

On a side-note, if you didn't like what I had in the OP, be a dear and point out what I did wrong so I can improve later on. Thanks, hon. <3

I agree completely. The only excuse to name a game "Dragon Age 2" is if it's a direct sequel to Dragon Age 1. And it's still silly and unimaginative. But Dragon Age 2 is NOT a direct sequel to the first game! It's a new game in the same universe!

I think they screwed themselves with the whole Dragon Age thing. What if the next game takes place during another age? Dragon Age 3: Blessed Age sounds rather stupid, doesn't it? I have no problems with them sticking to the current age, but you can only have so many epic events happen consecutively during the same age, but if they plan on making more games it'll become a bit too much an should be renamed Epic Age. If in every game you get to impact the world or a nation as much as DA:O it'll be hard to keep the whole thing together after a while. So they either go back, where your decisions have not been made, or they go very far forward so that they'll be irrelevant and lost to history.

Origins was just called Dragon Age for most of its development. Origins was a very late addition, and not al that well received by the forum.

I am so sick of seeing entire threads on things that aren't even confirmed or understood yet. ARGH.
