No,just install the latest patch 1.04

I know reason of problem. It's spoiled texture repack. You need high texture mod, which replace files in directory "packages\\core\\textures\\high\\"

But it may be another reason. Error [36] was me. I decided it so. I replace daorigins.exe file version of 1.03 to daorigins.exe nocd version 1.04, then installed the patch. And it worked! Sorry my bad language, it's google translate))

I don't understand, in order to patch the game I have to open the patch exe file, extract the daorigins.exe from the 1.04 patch exe file, manually replace the 1.00 daorigins.exe file I have and then run the 1.04 patch?

well, what i did was:

1. patch the origins to ver. 1.03

2. install awakening

3. replace daorigins.exe ver. 1.03 with nocd version 1.04,

4. and run the 1.04 patch



so thats about it~

I seem to be unable to install any patches to my newly installed (non Awakening at this time) game, tried both 1.03 patch and 1.04 patch, both fail on the chargen.rim file.

Have the same issue with 1.04 patch. Still no solution that doesnt involve a hack?

Tried moving the chargentexturepack.gpu.rim file and still no dice.

i just simple install DAO 1.03, then install DAA, then download patch 1.04 here link (http://lfiles3.broth...agonAge1.04.exe) just run normal the patch 1.04..no need to copy or paste or what ever, just run that new patch 1.04 after u finish download..if you have DAO & DAA , it auto patch to 1.04 after u run...

or try this too, in CD DAO&DAA copy paste that any other file that is different from the one the updater is looking for. It will tell you in the log in the "My documents" folder



second is download a no-cd crack for DOA.exe v1.04 and paste it over the 1.03 DOA.exe in the folder you installed the game. Its the executable file that you use to start the game. Once that's done - run the updater again

hey all . I installed the dao 1.04 patch ...i runned the launcher but I need the cd to run. i dont have it. i need a nocd crack to play it. anybody knows one??

I just removed the "daorigins.exe" file from the game folder and it worked 100%

Well, I installed the 1.04 patch a couple of days ago...



Dumbest thing I have EVER done. This patch has turned a game which used to run flawlessly every time into a random crashing catastrophe. My PC is no slouch either - quad core processor, 4 GB Ram, Raedon 4890HD 1 GB video card.



I would have only been too happy to uninstall the patch in order to "downgrade" to the 1.03 patch....but no....I can't do that. Can't re-install the game either because I bought it off Steam.



I've Googled for other possible fixes but none of them worked either (long story). So, I'm just going to uninstall the game instead. No point in waiting for patch 1.05 (if they make one) because God knows how long that will be.



Needless to say I will no longer be interested in purchasing Dragon Age 2....or anything else from EA or Bioware for that matter. I'll just play The Witcher again instead, or look for another good RPG from some other company.

i recently finished DAO and i tried playing:the golems of amgarak but i cant since i dont have the patch 1.04 i tried everything you guys said and it just wont work so i suppose ill just stop playing anyway thanks for all the help see ya !
