Hey, this article mentions "Seeker"... But The Seeker is Architect's sidekick, right?

The Seeker is a woman named Cassandra, and IIRC, she works for Chantry internal affairs. She's something called an Inquisitor, looking for an explanation behind how Hawke ended up sticking Thedas on the brink of war and trying to find some way to put it right. :)

Im not convinced the 360 is the lead platform. It could be the lead platform, or it could just be the lead platform for the consoles. We've heard conflicting reports.

If only there were some way to clear all this up...

I'd like to think that, but given how expensive game development is, I find it hard to believe they're seriously making an entirely seperate PC version along with the consoles. I'd be thrilled if thats the case, but I think its more likely they're porting the console stuff back to the PC with only minimal changes made to the PC version.

I think one of the interviews mentioned how they want all platforms on a level playing field, which to me means they don't want the PC version superior to the consoles, like it was with Origins. I'd just like some hard news on the PC version at this point, because crummy PC ports of console games are par for the course now and it would be so disheartening to see DA2 take that route, especially after Origins was built from the ground up with the strengths of the PC in mind.

if the PC version really ends up as a console port, I'll be happy to port DA2 from internets to my HD.
Of all things they could possibly do with DA2, a port is the only deal breaker for me.

Indeed, all the more reason to give us some pc gameplay. Or at least demo it or something so reporters can write about it.

Pirating it implies that I still really wanted to play it. I think it would mean more if I waited until Steam put it on sale for $5 or something.

Or how about showing a hint of backbone and just not playing games you hate?

My first inclination when the information started trickling out was to skip this game and hope for a more PC centric DA3. I check the boards occasionally looking for some encouragement toward changing my mind and developing an interest in the game. Unfortunately, the more I read about the game the more my initial impression gets refortified. Sorry BioWare, but it's shaping up to be a no sale for me. :(

I don't care how it plays, as long the story is still good, I can make my character and the gameplay is fun.

We care how it plays.

If you are in to story only then watch a film.

What's this? What do we have here? This guy says he doesn't care so long as the game is FUN?! What kind of bull**** is that?! A game being fun! Absurd.

For me, buying a product is showing the company that you respect and admire them, but if the company don't respect me why should I respect them?
Porting a game that was primary a PC game, for me, is disrespecting the PC gamers.

But we have no confirmation yet, I'm just showing how I'm felling right now with no confirmation so far.

I'm like Jowan - I hate waiting, it makes me nervous.

Bottomline: please don't worry too much.

The journalists still know little more than us if any and some almost
seem determined to pay BioWare back for their silence - imho a silly
thing to do.

Or...the reviewers could be seeing that same things because that's what's there.

Wich isn't much to go on, honestly

In the current pr phase with more non disclosure topics than allowed answers for the
developers and the community managers I don't want to be in a reviewer's shoes, really.

Folks - lets face it - that 1up article is mere copy

The guy even adapted that orcs and goblins nonsense by ign.

Exactly.Tempting us with continuation of our PC from DA1 and now telling us that we are to play as some peasant named "Hawke" ?! Bleh.  Limiting character choices ? Bleh once again.
Seriously it looks like somebody at Bioware office thought that they should make something equal to Diablo 3.

The guy even adapted that orcs and goblins nonsense by ign.

I wouldn't be surprised that the terms came as Bioware was afraid their new targets won't reckognise other names.

Seems like this game is shaping up to be a big dud. Which is completly disapointing. I loved DAO andjust wish they would create a sequel very similar in playing style, but with a different plot..

I can't say I really trust that article. From the IGN one, it doesn't seem like combat on the console version has really changed much, and BioWare already said that combat on the PC version will largely remain the same.

I am going to wait till some gameplay videos show up.

You guys do realize how much crap they would've gotten if they said, "Let's keep everything THE SAME, and just.. swap 'round a few things." This is definitely one of those "damned if you do, damned if you don't" situations.

Like some have already said in this thread, chill out. Wait for more information. It'll get here soon enough.

Here is information we got. No backstory, no personalisation of the main character, forcing us to play one chracter, one race, one surname(opposed to 7 in DA1).
If somebody likes games like Diablo, Modern Warfare he might be interested. I prefer RPG's.

Actually I think it's almost a case of we knowing more than the journalists/reviewers since the Dev's posts here frequently telling us stuff that the journalists/reviewers obviously did not know. :P They just played/saw the hacknslash demo that was especially easy to beat so they would not go home being sadface because they got their bottom kicked by darkspawn AFAIK.

We also know that we'll be single-handedly shaping said "one character" into something entirely our own. Our choices will even be more poignant, as they're not only going by what happens when all is said and done, but your characters motives behind their actions.

Seriously, drop this "oh god oh god we only have one origin and it's a peasant this game is going to suck" nonsense. You don't know enough to make these judgments.

Improvement is fine.

Gutting the game and replacing everything with Mass Effect scraps isn't.

That's the old question then: when do we have enough information and are allowed to complain then"?

They chose this piecemeal approach of marketing, no one forced them to go way this instead of releasing enough information on a single date so everyone could make a solid opinion. They wanted it to be this way, and this includes people getting either excited or annoyed about the late bits of information we have.

Hawke will not be Shepard. He will be be 'your character' and you will be able to shape him into what you want.

The addition of a VO, a dialogue wheel, and a single "origin" is the only thing anyone who compares it to Mass Effect is really going on, and we've yet to see it in action. No one - even myself - has enough information to make a proper judgment on this game yet.

I like main protagonist VO, so 1 character &1 race is fine in my book, I also like dialogue changes. I also love hack & slash games. My problem is simple, if indeed it is a hack & slash -and not a return to BG style RPGs- why on earth should I bother playing it, Diablo III is coming out and is more than enough to fix my hack & slash cravings. Had this been '07, with not too many good hack & slash around, I'd give it a go, now? no way.

What haping? He is human. I cant change that into elf or dwarf race. He is a peasant-that's a fact. Can't change that either. I can't change his dumb name of "Hawke" into something else-in DA2 I had seven choices for surname.

Seriously, drop this "oh god oh god we only have one origin and it's

Really? So where is our dwarven character, where is our elven character? Where is a character named somethign else than the "Hawke" ? Already player's choices have been limited. And what other origin other than Hawke do you see? Point it and than you can say that it is nonsense that there is only one origin.

And it's a surprisingly easy one to answer. The people who are worried about the PC being a port can be put at ease when they get dev confirmation that it wasn't or video footage showing the "new" combat system for the PC. People fretting over the dialogue wheel can be sated (or even more enraged) when they see that in action. It depends on your personal qualm with what's happening in development, but it'll get here soon enough. We're only a few weeks into PR here.

So your suggestion is to wait until it's too late to complain to actually complain?

It's not just us irrational fanboys raging at the direction of Dragon Age 2. Mainstream sites like 1UP and Eurogamer are doing it too. Doesn't this tell you that something is off?
