This time a DLC with 0% of story, characters... 100% combat. Ok, Bioware

Well, that's just dumb. Everyone I know doesn't play DAO solely for it's great combat. It's too bad BioWare doesn't make the same kind of dlc that Bethesda did for Fallout 3.

Sounds like a stepdown from Leliana's Song?

Were you all not paying attention during Darkspawn chronicles? This has already happened.

If they're just gonna throw a dungeon at us in response to the complaints that Awakening was too easy, they should make it a free download.

Haven't they always said they would be putting out different kinds of DLC for different tastes? Leliana's Song was very story-based and cinematic. Darkspawn Chronicles was more combat-based.

I wonder if this new one will be something akin to the Infinite Dungeons" premium module for NWN?

I suppose the simple answer is that if you don't want to play it, don't buy it. Some people complained that Leliana's Song wasn't up to much as it didn't introduce any new areas, others are already voicing concerns that DA2 is not what they want as they won't be able to continue with their Warden. This appears to be a short term fix for both camps.

I never really fancied playing as a darkspawn so I never bothered with Darkspawn Chronicles, but the opportunity to continue of of my wardens stories does appeal. Dependant on price of course....

Different types of dlc appeal to different types of people. I love the story and lore of the Dragon Age world but I also love dungeons. A new hardcore dungeon for Dragon Age? Sounds amazing in my book, bioware is just trying to appeal to a wider playerbase which is fine. There have been story dedicated dlc's and combat dedicated. Switching it up isn't really a bad thing. I for one am excited for the new dlc.

I, for one, would love DLC that expands the world I play in with my warden. DLC that adds story content as well as combat. So far we have 3 that do this and but only 2 of them add real story content. I like how with the added content for ME2, it expands the world froward and feels continuous, were as the latest DLC for DAO seems to separate you from the continuity. Just adding a dungeon with no content other than intense combat just won't do.

If people really don't want this kind of DLC, it will bomb. Let's see what happens.

Some people still want 100% of trophies in their PSN profile, if you understand me.

It had a story, just a very light story; kinda like a short story instead of a novel.

Assuming this adds the dungeon to origins or awakening and isn't some stand alone joke like chronicles then this sounds great. It's exactly what dlc should be. There are tons of places you to go to in any RPG that have very little story or are completely pointless to the over all campaign. You just go to them for the fun of it, to say you've done it and to pick up some nice items as well.

And that's ok, as long as those places are included in the original game and you don't have to pay for them. I enjoyed DA for its story and characters, not for the combat - to tell the truth, combat bores me pretty quickly -  so I'm not going to spend my money on a DLC that is only combat-oriented, with no story expansion. Sorry, that's not what I loved DA for. If I wanted to go into dungeons and kill monsters, I would play Diablo.

I've held off on DSC and Leliana's Song so far because I'd rather continue on playing as my warden, rather than play some completely separate adventure that has little to no effect on my warden or Origins.

I have posted somewhere that I'd like to see some kind of end-game dungeon, that would not only give me something to do after finishing the main quest, but also give me a place to take my squad if I feel like just fighting stuff, whether it's post coronation or if I'm just looking to slay some darkspawn in between collecting treaties during the main quest..

Hopefully this new dlc won't be "finished" upon clearing the enemies once, but will have enemies that respawn either over time or upon leaving and returning.

I have 100% trophies for DAO at the moment... And intend to keep it 100%. At least new DLC is a reason to boot up the disk and maybe replay Origins or Awakening again as well as new DLC.

DAO is played by folks for lots of reasons - if the DLC doesn't tickle your fancy, don't open your wallet. Bioware has many fans and those fans have different play styles; why shouldn't bioware develop dlc for all those different play styles. It's not as if the story *suffers* because we get to kill some extra darkspawn. Besides - it fits the lore well - darkspawn come forth in HORDES; doesn't it make sense that even as the Warden is off getting allies he's going to have to open a can of WHOOP **** now and then on the darkspawn horde? I myself was just thinking that the other day when replaying return to ostagar - I was thinking that here I was in the midst of the blight and there weren't nearly enough darkspawn!

Wasn't a 100% combat only dungeon mod already created by modder? I remember seeing it somewhere.

I'll wait for this one. If it's just the same old Deep Roads maps with different monsters, I'm not getting it. If it's an entirely new map with new types of enemies, I might consider.

I hope it's part of the main game, not a new mini campaign.

Looks like there's at least another one too, by the looks of the changes in the v1.04 patch. Since the changes to chargen will support it, I'm assuming you'll start a new campaign or import a previous character... presuming what I think I'm seeing is right.

This is Pinnacle Station all over again. We don't play these games for the combat, BioWare!

QFT, the only reason and I mean ONLY reason I even played Mass Effect was for the dialogue on the ship with squad mates and council conversations. Might as well been a Captain Simulator.

I have more interest in Dragon Age's combat, but still I play more for the out of combat experience.
