1.04 Awakenings Patch Bugs

I wanted to create this thread, because I so far haven't seen one so far, and this is my issue with the patch and Awakenings:
In Awakenings I can not since the 1.04 patch pick up my third specialization. At first thought it might have been a mod compatibility issue, but I do not believe it is, my husband is playing vanilla DAO and DAO:A and he could not pick up the third specialization either since the 1.04 patch. Have hunted around the forum, and haven't seen this posted up yet. If it is please PM me and let me know, would love to know how to get that third specialization is a pain to play without!

In 1.04, I cannot seem to have rune tracings in my inventory in Awakenings.

smugglers quest in amaranthine bug still is present. You can end quest given by smugglers even if theyre allready all dead and everyone things that you helped them.



In vigil's keep deep roads (the one where we fight againts posesed ogre) there is one statue that is described by name but you cannot interact with it by any means.



In polish language version the names for level of runes are all messed up - we got two times master runes to create (master, arcmaster, master).

If i find out something else i will write it here.

It appears my characters are now invisible in Awakenings. I can see them on the screen but everyone else ignores them. I started a new character thinking the save was bugged but I can walk through vigil keep around all of the enemies. None of them go hostile and I can even walk up and beat on them but they have some freaky high HP Regen. Eventually they go down, and are lootable but no reaction from anyone else. Kinda funny the first little encounter with the survivor I can just turn around and talk to him to get the cut scene of his pummeling the dead genlocks. Not sure what's going on, using the Steam versions of the game. Gonna check Origins and see if it's doing the same thing

The silverite mines equipment loss bug is still there. Look at my profile character Kacper lv 30 - i needed to remove all my rings, belt, shield and necklace to avoid this bug.

Silverite mine equipment loss bug can be easily overcomed by equipping non-restricted character items on all of your party, example: warden's oath equipped on your warden = loss of all equipment, ring of ages which is not restricted to any characters and equipable to all characters = no loss of equipment.

Two another finding and pls help me if im using wrong names for this (i play in polish version):

1. After completing quest "bombs away" Dworkhin (dwarf from bombs) is marked still for this quest but we cant interact with him any other that just listening his monolog.

2. toughness and dwimerith runes in two last levels(master and patron runes) are changed from weapon runes to armor runes.

Did not not know about that little trick for the Silveritmine bug. Thanks Unrefind -Nemesis. I to still have the issues with that nasty lil bug. I did find a mod that will fiix theee Black-Blade Boots and gloves http://www.dragonage...ile.php?id=1112

I don't think they will ever address that particular bug, the mod has two different variations to choose from.

I can confirm that, even when patched and restarted, if you finish the "Law and Order" quest before "Sigrun's Roguish Past," Sigrun's personal quest is unavailable :(

I didn't have this problem before, so I'm assuming its caused by 1.04. My party will not attack. Either in saved games or new ones. I do not have "hold" activated. I do not have tactics set. I have set everyone to aggressive. They do not defend themselves. If I manually set them to attack, they will attack for one round and then stop. Has anyone else had this problem?

I have heard that this is intentional, but wasn't privy to hear a reason to explain why.

Anyway, I am always wary of these kinds of threads until they become official as many people lack the ability to distinguish an actual code bug to something they may have done or data corruption.

I don't have awakenings, but after patching up to 1.04 the game now crashes after about 15-20mins. :(

Ok, i found on wiki and point 2 should be:

"Dweomer and Hale runes  are changed from weapon into armor runes in masterpiece an paragon level runes"

When using eteric stamina potion that is available only for use in Fade the game give use message "RXA230 Anselem's Reef" (without "").

Having Justice in party in Amaranthine city the game suggests a posible cutscene after interaction with Andraste statue in front the church doors but I cant find the clickable point to start the cutscene.

Ever since i got the update 1.04 i cannot start the game it will just give me an error that that i need to insert the disk although i alrdy have it

Just got hit with a bug, not sure if it's 1.04 as i upgraded before i started the character import into Awakenings.



Tell the smuggler you'll talk to the bar-keep

Tell the watch-man you'll look into the smuggling.

Fight a number of the smugglers (but not the ones at the city gates)

Get the barman to open up the passage.

FIght the smugglers at the city gates.

Fight the smugglers in the hideout. At the end of that fight, I got a "new quest" for Law and Order, that auto-completed and now the watch-man won't talk to me.

well I ended awakenings yesterday and didnt find anymore bugs for it in 1.04 besides the fact that sigrun quest was unavailable for me.

If it is, it's REALLY bad design. "Law and Order" becomes available before it is possible to recruit Sigrun, so unless you're "in the know", you'll never see it.

Looks like I'll just have to restart my 60 % done Awakening playthrough, so that I can beat the system by a) not doing Law and Order before Sigrun and B) recruiting Justice last...

The couple of kludges in Awakening make me really sad, as in a lot of ways I think it's superior to the base game.

I'd like to be able to install and patch through Impulse - my point of sale. Every time, from the initial install, through the current 1.04 patch, I end up having to wipe the install and go through EADM. And every time, I have to go through the ridiculous manual steps of re-authorizing my purchased and Digital CE DLC.



The current failure is an error 36 during the 1.03 - 1.04 patch process. I'm going to have to uninstall, reinstall EADM, and re-download everything again. wtf. This shouldn't be so difficult.

I bought DA:O and DA:A and the DLC's thru Steam, I wonder if it is possible to roll it back to the previous patch, I had way less issues. I know that there were many others that had problems, but ugh. I am now dealing with the wierd unauthorized DLC bug, not the common Steam one mind you, here is a link to that forum post:

So I finally found something on the forums in reference to my issue with the third specialization. Here is the link if anyone else is having issues, alas I do not think it has anything to do with the patch seems to be a modding issue.

I installed Awakening back in March and immediately uninstalled, reinstalled DA:O and upgraded to 1.02a after encountering several of these bugs. Now after 5 months of waiting, I find that none of these issues are fixed and even more are introduced and I am still unable to play DA:A as a working title. I realize that many have claimed that they have been able to play through DA:A without unacceptable problems, but broken content does not constitute an "acceptable" level of software development in my opinion. Once again, I have reverted to 1.02a, which is not compatible with the expansion, so I continue to wait to play the expansion I paid for 5 months ago, knowing full well that there is a very real possibility that I will never be able to play it under satisfactory conditions. This will likely result in a decision not to purchase DA2 or any further Bioware products.
