Why only Human?

I no longer can play as inner city elf, or as a rogue dwarf, an noble human.
Why are you going to limit us to Human peasant from lothering. Thats not a sequel thats a just more DLC.
As someone stated earlier it would be tantamount to BG2 you strip all the races out but human.
But I guess you need to make the game fast and easy.

The name sounds so out of place and I feel no connection to the character whatsoever.
Every time I hear the name "Hawke" I cringe.
And the only humans options is so boring.
Unexplainable especially since DA1 gave so many choices.....We had 7 surnames!

I don't understand why we are limited to peasant Hawke as well.

Okay, we get it. You hate the name Hawke as you've said many times.
I understand voicing concerns but you're just whining. Buy the game or don't.

I also hate that they are limiting our choices, while DA1 allowed for so many. Why do they want us to play humans and ban elves and dwarfs:(Rogue Unit wrote...

I had many interesting stories in DA1. DA2 has only one about a guy I don't care about.Arttis wrote...
so they can try to tell a more compelling story.Personally i found their story to be too classical.Maybe it will be different this time.

Buying Dragon Age 2 doesn't magically break your copy of Dragon Age: Origins.

like this one
where the lead guy is Commander Ace Hunter.
BUt as we all now they need to make the game quick, as possible to streamline it, add new graphics and plug the scores of the original dragon age about how great that one was, but in realty the DA2 will be far different the the orignal and why well becuase EA has put out a stock warning on its price being lower at the end of the year.

Why should you feel connected to a character you haven't even played yet? Jump the gun much?
As for the name, it's no worse than Cousland.

But while those choices have been limited, greater ones may be in store, considering that by having a more predefined protagonist, the story can be much more tight and focused. Also, the devs have said that, in contrast with Shepherd from ME, Hawke is much less defined and that his/her personality/choices etc are up to us. So, yes, some choices are gone, but in the end me may end up with even MORE variety as to how the game turns out.

Because humans are easiest to relate to. I love it!
Also is there anything more boring than a human from a village.
For the peasant Hawke, who many of us don't care about. But while those choices have been limited, greater ones may be in store

I think that people aren't looking at this in every way they could be. People are upset that we can't choose an origin and have to play as a human with the last name of Hawke. I get it.

If I want a tight focused story I will wathc a movie or read a book, if I want a loose story that I can control I play an RPG like DAO, but apparently not DA2-Simplicity

Indeed, but I usually always play as elves (with a few exceptions) in fantasy games, so it'll feel strange not being able to in this game. Not that it will stop me from buying the game...

In not having to change parts for each race, they're able to produce more content so that we can have a ten year story, instead of a two year story.
no matter how you cut it there are less options this way. I liked being a noble dwarf who was a **** and had a son out of wed lock.
they went from 7 origin stories down to one.
Which I would be ok with if they labeled this as an Expansion or DLC, but as a full fledged sequel its a step backwards.

Well, while I disagree with the Cousland bit, I agree that we know next to nothing about this game.
Besides. Hawke is an old English surname.
EDIT: filetemo, most of your complaints were extremely superficial and amounted to: why don't we know anything about the game yet? It contributed nothing we hadn't seen a thousand times, nor could any of your questions be answered. They weren't valid arguments/complaints/worries.
