That's just false. Maybe what makes a game replayable for you is different races, but aside from experiencing the city elf origin because it reminds me so strongly of a shtetel I didn't play anything other than Human Warriors or Mages (not even a rogue!) and yet somehow still have 200hrs and 8 playthroughs on DA.

As much of a shock as it might be for you to handle, some people replay a game because it is fun, not out of some obsessive need for new content.

so, you, a person who never played anything else than human, comes here and complains about people who are worried about the lack of origins and other races?

This is like a KKK member talking about having no problems with racism at a job

Posted Image Yeah... I'm going to back away slowly.

His point was that Origins were not the only reason the game was replayable...

Same for me. I wouldn´t have replayed it, if not the different origins.

no, but he shouldn't talk about how races or origins don't add to replayability, atleast that is what I read out from his responses

I doubt, but voicing 6 different races in male and female is a big issue.

I thought about this, and I believe a single good male and female voice actor would be good for all the different races, afterall they are all voiced by humans anyway, so while I also believed at first that VO is why they cut origins and races it is just not a real cause to do so

Many good RPG games limit you'r name, surname, race and gender, and they are still good.

Becuz a rugged voice would do wonders for a teen-age, girly looking male elf.

to be frank, many elves looked normal with just a pointy ear, like the merchant or hunter in the dalish camp

Yeps, I also wouldn´t mind if there was only one voice per gender as long it is ok. But someone of the devs already answered the race question and it was both - voicing and lore. I think that most people would expect Elves to talk with a slightly different accent. I only know the German voicing version and there was no great difference between the (short) sentences of the PC.

Bw is starting to hate rpg's, clearly. They even make fun of rpg fans in ME2 . . . wtf, Bw made some of the best rpg's out there, too.

Oh, the irony!

And many didn't.
But let's go without this fact.
I can't imagine an Dwarf Warrior, that would sound like an Elven Mage. That would be ... not natural.

I didn't deny your right to complain. When did I say you have to right to be angry over losing content that is important to you? I just said that what made the game replayable for you didn't make it replayable for me.

In fact, I'd like for you to find exactly where 1) I ever complained about anyone doing anything and 2) where I complained specifically that it was unjustified that people are worried about the lack of origins or other races.

ETA:

And wtf man, I just saw the KKK line. That's uncalled for.

But I never said that. I said taking away races does not neccesarily reduce replayability, because people replay a game for different reasons. The two claims are just not logically equivalent.

Okay, slowly, again: My origin was absolutely determing for the final. Never, nowhere my character was treated as a peasent. The Warden, even with Elven Origin wasn´t treated as peasant, and if he was that was because of his ELVEN ORIGIN.

Once again, slowly: no one denied that the origin counts.

What we denied was that the origin was relevant 90% of the time. You were treated exactly the same post-Ostagar and pre-endgame with the only difference at most a few lines of dialogue the whole game. Maybe superficial content is special to you, but I see it for what it is: superficial.

Still waiting for the peasent part..

I see that your sarcasm meter is broken. I will now back away.

The original post bemoaned the lack of origins as if that was significant. One poster snarkly pointed out that the origins did not count for anything most of the game.

And I see your short-term memory is broken, you have answered me two times.
Yes, the Darkspawn I was "talking" to most of the time didn´t offer me their daughters. At least I got the gold.
And the strangers in the city didn´t either, altough "nobility" was clearly written on my forehead.
Everybody who was suspected to reknow the PC as noble, did it.
The opener critized that you are narrowed to one origin and race. You are narrowed to one origin in race. In DA:O you weren´t. Quite simple.

The origins determined how a player viewed his character, his life, interpreted his choice and how he envisioned his life off the screen.Quite important things.

I hope you're being ironic, because two different people with the same avatar icon answered you.
