It's called "payroll" and "expenses".  They need to make money so they can spend money.  And they ain't making money unless they're putting out games.

Yeah. Six times the content means at least 8 times the time and money. Meaning a 2025 release.

Why can you only play as a human?

Because Bioware hates the idea of a female dwarf or female elf romance and they've finally realized that no self respecting male dwarf or elf would do a human female. Ergo, no dwarf or elf player character. And we all know men are all that counts.  Bioware is all about the dating sims these days. Case Closed.

7 surnames in DA:2 would mean 14 voice overs, which would mean 14 voice actors, which would mean no room in the budget left to make the game or no room for content after adding 14 different voice overs to the game.

So which do you prefer Human with voice over and a game priced around $40 or 7 choices with 14 different voice overs and no game priced around $40? 

Not to mention they are telling the story of 1 particular person who happens to be human, it's not the story of Hawke the Dwarven, Elven, Human champion of Kirkwall.

I would rather have six full games each with a different, highly developed origin than one full game with six. Who's rushing?
