I have never been able to complete the Bringing Down the Sky story because I just can't get past the land mines/sensors.
I know there must be a trick to it other than "go slowly." Yeah. I've read that, tried it over and over and always get blown up.
Please help.

It's just a matter of finding the right way. If the indicator states you're getting too close, step back and take another route.

I have found coming in to the corner under the engine for me is easiest. Just make sure you save right before trying to do it so you don't have to repeat a bunch.

I never do, and I usually get the fun of lifing and throwing one into the mine field to have HIM blow up!! Good times.

Did you zoom in on your map?
Your minimap is also affected by it, so zoom all the way in and the way accross the minefield becomes a lot more clear.
I always walk from the mountains toward the eastern turret, from there it's quite easy to walk to the side of the building.

I always go in from furthest away. Snip them with your rifle while dodging the missiles they toss. If you stay right and make your way towards the two crates you should be fine.

I always ran through that mine field and never got blown to hell. just stay away of those damn demolition charges and run...

It has already been stated but the minimap is your best friend for the land mines.
