As far as I remember, the Shadow Broker exists longer than humans found out about new species, so the SB can't be a human from the start.

I think the Shadow Broker is one of the following possiblities:

-a position, suited by the most successfull member of the corresponding information-network.

-a Asari

-a Family of Salarians, with the leader of the family as the SB.

-an AI(somehow I'm thinking this is the most obvious)

It would be so boring if the Shadow Broker turned ouy to be an AI.

The Elcor diplomat from ME1 who's secret the Consort supposedly let out....

Actually, I have no idea who it is...LOL! And I hope the DLC doesn't reveal who it is yet....SB's identity should be resolved in ME3...IMO!

Potential plot hole if it turns out the Shadow Broker is a human. It's never stated how long the Shadow Broker has been around....

Then it wouldn't be a plot hole.

I always hoped it was a volus (Barla Von). Volus have a good grasp of economy and the political exchange system.

It would be cool if Sha'ira was the Shadow Broker, as well. She packed up and left the Citadel around the same time Liara went on the hunt.

The Shadow Broker is Conrad Verner, so human I guess.

:bandit:

(No one knows OP but it's probably either an A.I., Asari, Salarian, Volus, or a group of people.)

As I'm back to the forums - let me corect you. The Consort never left the Citadel, it was rumored that she may be leaving. In the context - that news flash suggests that she's still there but considers leaving.

Also, Shadow Broaker doesn't seem to act like an AI... what interest an AI could possibly have in trading information for credits?

I explain in the next part of that incomplete quote that I think it would take a long time for the Shadow Broker to get to the lofty position he's in, longer than humans have been a part of the galactic community. If that's the case I consider it a plothole. That's why I say potential plothole, not definite plothole.

Kusy! You're back. I was wondering if you'd finally landed yourself an IP ban or something.

What interest could an AI have in trading information for credits... you might ask the same question of Goto.

Even the rogue AI on the Citadel was stealing credits. If the AI has a goal which requires credits to achieve, it will of course find a way to get credits.

I've always had the suspicion that the Shadow Broker is a Reaper. Gathering all this information on the organics would be useful when the Reapers finally decided to attack. The Shadow Broker knows most of what's happening in the Galaxy.

The Reaper works through an indoctrinated group of people, which I think is what we'll see in the Liara DLC. We'll kill who we think is the Shadow Broker, and then realise that it was just an indoctrinated person.

I guess we'll see in the DLC.

You forget this is a forum meant for discussion about the game; including speculation, which is what most who are posting here are doing.

It's probably an AI. Just like the president ending up being a computer in Fallout 3, something like that.

Contradicting an established part of the story is an example of a plot hole.  Contradicting something that's merely assumed or speculated is not.

Don't mean to pick on you.  By now Bioware's almost certainly ignoring any complaint involving the term "plot hole" because most of them are bogus.  Which is a shame because there are some legitimate ones they should be paying attention to.

If it's another AI issue I'm going to really hate this DLC. No offense to fans, but I don't like Liara. I do like the Shadow Broker and he's the only reason I have interest to get his DLC right now.

I think I might wait now for people to play, then ask someone to spoil it if it is an AI. That way I don't waste my time.

I agree, I'm really tired of fighting AI's.

Something tells me that we'll find somebody, presume it's the Shadow Broker, take care of them, and find out that the Shadow Broker is still out there. End DLC.

That's just my feeling.

That would also be very disappointing.
