Actually, he kind of looks like Martian Manhunter.  http://en.wikipedia....terRossAlex.jpg

AI program that exists in data and is not a physical being. No doubt someone would have betrayed him somehow if he was physical unless like only 1 or 2 people actually see him.

Can't be Feron: Different goals.

Can't be a Reaper: Reapers don't care about profit nor would the Collectors work alongside one for payment.

Can't be TIM: They are enemies.

Who is Feron?

It would make 0% sense, but I would love it to be the turian councilor. You walk into his office and "Ah yes "Shepard" the human Spectre trying to kill me. We have dismissed this claim."

Something tells me that we'll find somebody, presume it's the Shadow Broker, take care of them, and find out that the Shadow Broker is still out there. End DLC.

That's just my feeling.

That would also be very disappointing.

If handled well I think it would be great. I actually think it would be a letdown if the DLC goes something like this:

TIM: "Shepard, our agents have confirmed the location of the base of operations of the Shadow Broker. I believe you are well acquainted with the Shadow Broker. His modus operandi, his goals of galactic balance are a threat to Cerberus but moreover to the advancement of humankind, I want him dead. You've stood up for humanity in the most crucial of moments twice, now, it's time to do so again."

You travel to his base, shoot his merc squad and have a chat with him before you put a bullet in his head. Given his reputation, you do not just walk up to the SB. It would be cool if he had a doppelganger or someone posing as the SB (remember Batman Begins?) or indeed a group of people. I think having SB as one of the main villains in ME3 (him as an agent for the Reapers) would be cool. Remember, having everyone indoctrinated is the ultimate form of balance, as the Reapers themselves do not take part in day-to-day galactic civilization. Perhaps they promised the SB freedom in exchange for his services?

In any shape or form, I would hate it if the SB turned out to be TIM, I know it's unlikely as it goes against everything we know about TIM, but you can never be sure.

A Drell who assisted Liara in rescuing Shepard's body, he was left behind and captured by the Shadow Broker's goons while Liara escaped. Her entire vengeance driven mission is due to him.

Putting a bullet in the head of TIM would be unlikely due to the importance he might play in ME3.

That and they're both enemies.

I've always had the suspicion that the Shadow Broker is a Reaper. Gathering all this information on the organics would be useful when the Reapers finally decided to attack. The Shadow Broker knows most of what's happening in the Galaxy.

The Reaper works through an indoctrinated group of people, which I think is what we'll see in the Liara DLC. We'll kill who we think is the Shadow Broker, and then realise that it was just an indoctrinated person.

I guess we'll see in the DLC.

If this is the case why would a reaper hire organics to give Shepard's body to Harbinger? why not just get Shepard himself and do what the other reapers wanted to do him?

Personally I've always believed it to be Barla Von, the holo-gram of the SB you see in Redemption could always be fake to further protect his identity

How very odd, you came to the same conclusion the same way I did in a topic a few months ago.

Kaiser Shepard wrote...

"Oh look, it's this topic again."

Yeah, it sure is. I though it might be relevant enough to dedicate an entire thread to it considering the fact that he makes an appearance in the Redemption comic, albeit in holographic form:

*picture*

Even though it might just be some kind of avatar instead of actually being the Shadow Broker's silhouette, the shape of his head suggests that he is a drell, without a doubt the rarest species in the Mass Effect series so far. So rare, in fact, that we have only seen three so far. The first two are obvious: assassin Thane Krios and his son, Kolyat. The third, however, is exclusive to the Mass Effect: Redemption comic: Feron, an agent of the Shadow Broker who joins Liara on her quest to save Shepard's body from none other than the Shadow Broker himself. In the end he ends up getting captured by the Broker's enforcer, Tazzik... or did he?

I find it to be highly unlikely that the Shadow Broker turns out to be someone, or something, we never knew. Revealing the identity of an entity this mysterious and intriguing will no doubt be one of the memorable moments of the series, and thus it will probably be a shocking revelation to say the least. A random volus or asari would not have the same impact as someone you may know and possibly care about.

Wouldn't having Liara's new friend turning out to be the Shadow Broker be a great twist? I can definitely see BioWare pulling a Keyser Söze like that, which would also change how one would look at the comic: the legendary Shadow Broker turning out to have been playing with Liara, Cerberus and the Collectors/Harbinger all along, never intending to sell the hero of the Battle of the Citadel to the Collectors, but just furthering his own plans, whatever those may be...

In any case, whoever - or whatever - the Shadow Broker may actually be, tell me and the rest of the community about who you think he - or she, or it, or they - is.

Really, I just want it to be someone I already know. You always hope it's someone you know.

So when they're finally revealed you can gasp and go, "YOU!!"

It'd be funny indeed if it actually turned out to be Barla Von. On the other hand, the volus in general need the galaxy to be stable in order for them to be successful since they're dependent of trade and communications. And someone states that whoever uses the services of the SB seem to gain some, but also lose some, thus keeping the galactic society in equilibrium. So a volus organization is very likely.

I actually think the broker is either a batarian or a group of batarians. Crazy idea, but balak did act shocked if grilled on who he may be working for. Just something for debate material.
