Is the PC version going to get the new action based combat system as well?

I sincerely hope so, since in DAO combat mostly consisted either obliterating everything effortlessly or pressing the pause button every 2 seconds waiting for the cooldowns to reset in the more difficult fights. A little more twitch based action would make combat a lot more engaging IMO.

"Largely unchanged" could mean a lot of different things to different people. Especially considering that it's coming out of a marketing department.
Regradless, I sincerely hope that that's not the case. It would suck if the 360 version was more fun to play than the PC version.

It's like we actively dismiss theories not covered by actual fact or something!
Just because the combat system can remain largely unchanged on the PC doesn't rule out the possibility of the "console" version not being present as an alternative.

You do have the option to choose. If you want to play the console version (new combat system), play on console. If you want to play the PC version (old combat system), play on PC.
You are lacking a basic component of a standard discussion.
It's called, "Reading Comprehension".

WOW! Amazing choice there, so if you want to get the new combat system you have to buy a console. Great...

And what if you want the new combat system, but also want the higher res, better graphics, and performance? And mods? And don't have a console to boot? Doesn't sound like a very good option..

Settle? I have to settle every time I play a bad PC interface because the game was designed for a console. IMO they should design a good PC interface for the PC version, and a good console interface for the console version. Why deal with the time, effort, and risk of crossing the two?

So the reviews from comic con are talking about the new and improved fast paced combat system on the 360 version. Will we get that on PC as well?

How about you buy it on the console then? Go away.

Do you really think it's a serious possibility?

Let me say my basic point another way. Given relatively fixed resources, there are generally 3 competing factors in any software development; features, quality, and schedule. It is a zero-sum game (pun intended). That means to gain in any category, you would lose something somewhere else. Assuming that providing a "new combat system option for the PC" is an additional feature, I would rather they not do that at the expense of quality in the rest of the game, or a slip in schedule.

Monstru, if you disagree with my comment feel free to actually say something relevant about it, rather than feeble personal insults. If need be I can translate it into simpler terms for you. There is no need to make the PC version play like a console. Anyone who wants to play it like that is free to do it on a console. I am not in favor of BW doing anything to potentially F up what is currently a very good thing to a lot of players (the DAO system).
First, I did not insult you. (See: Reading Comprehension)
Second, the one being irrelevant here, is you.
The OP asked if the console combat system could be used on the PC. He obviously already knows that if he so wanted the console combat system, he could play the game on a console, so your post, rather than come across as snide and witty, ended up making you sound obvious and stupid.

The Witcher did it.
Do I expect Bioware to do it?
No.
Is it technically possible?
Yes.

So we're discussing something that neither of us thinks is going to happen? Gotcha.
Except thinking something won't happen doesn't automatically reduce the chances of said something not happing to 0%.
